1948 FORD F1 289 V8 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TOTAL RESTORATION INCLUDING PICTURES AND DOCUMENTATION After much consideration and the need to build a new house I have decided to sell a few of the vehicles in my collection. It breaks my heart to offer for sale this fine 1948 FORD F1 STEP SIDE with a 289 V8 and AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I purchased this truck out of the estate of the gentlman who had this truck restored and considered it to be the diamond of his collection. This truck has had countless dollars and hours spent on restoring it. Almost every part was disassembled, repainted, rechromed, or refinished. I have pictures from when he purchased this truck back in 1996 including phases of disassembly, metal work, and some paint. A local newpaper did and article about the previous owner and his collection and in the article he stated that he had over $10,000 in the body and paint work alone. This truck has retained it's original look and style but had the old engine and transmission upgraded to a 289 V8 and automatic transmission. This truck runs and drives as good as it looks. This truck turns heads and truely draws alot of attention. If you have been wanting to add to your collection or just wanting a really cool truck to cruise in bid now! CONDITION: EXTERIOR: Very nice looking truck. It is an older restoration however the paint and body still look nice. The only flaws with the paint are 3 chips ranging from 1/4 inch up to about 1 inch on the right running board. The truck had new metal installed in the floorboards. For whatever reason they did not remove the existing floorboards so from the uderside you can still see the old metal. Overall this is a nice looking truck. I am not going to say it is a perfect Barrett-Jackson quality vehicle but it is truck that you can drive, take to shows, and be very proud of. INTERIOR: Fully restored. Looks good. DRIVETRAIN: Starts, runs, and drives great. Motor runs strong and has plenty of power. Transmission shifts smooth and solid. This truck sounds awesome. SHIPPING and PAYMENT: $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. If deposit has not been received within 48 hours of the end of the auction the vehicle will be relisted, no exceptions. Balance due upon pick up. Vehicle must be picked up or paid in full within 10 days of the end of the auction. All shipping must be paid for by the winning bidder.
