Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car for three reasons: 1. Air Conditioning 2. Blue interior 3. 2 door h/t I purchased this 1967 Lemans out of Florida with the intentions of converting it into a 1966 GTO with a/c and 4 speed tranny. I had previously changed a 1966 Gto which had a 1967 grill back to the 1966 grill and ASSUMED I could do same with the rear end, my mistake was/is you can not covert a 1967 into a 1966, the quarter panels are different where the tail panels attach. So, I am now going to sell this 1967 and find a 1966 Lemans that I can convert to a GTO, which is what I had many years ago and is still what I want to create today. About the car: The car has been stored in Florida for 35 years and the mileage of 47,422 appears to be correct since it does not have the usual last digit hanging ½ way between the numbers. The car is solid but has scraps, skins and a couple small dents, the larger being on the driver rear quarter where something appears to have fallen on it and that dent is about 1-2 inches. I do not see any obvious rust top or bottom of the car. The pictures look better than the physical car as far as paint etc. however since I was going to do a complete rebuild to the GTO option which would require body work and paint that was not an issue with me. I am saying the car needs a complete restoration; paint, vinyl top, A/C is all there but I have not checked to see if it is operational, that way I am not over selling the car. Having said that the car is very solid, starts, shift fine, drives straight and has a rebuild engine with compression between 120 and 140 on each cylinder. I did not do the rebuild but was told the original owner did have the engine rebuild and that is why I had the compression checked. Options: vinyl roof, power rear antenna (antenna broken), power steering, power assisted brakes, a/c, bucket seats, remote mirror control. I have additional parts if you are interested; a 1968 Pontiac 400 engine, a 4 speed with linkage and shifter, original wheels and tires, headers (new), HEIL distributor, 4 barrel intake, a complete a/c system for the interior of a GTO/Lemans, a 389 block, crank and pistons, rear end and other misc.parts including an original set of Rally 1 wheels. All these parts are available at an additional cost to the winning bidder. Please do not ask about buying these parts until the car has sold. Thanks for looking and AMERICA BLESS GOD!
