Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ ENTIRE ITEM DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING OR ASKING QUESTIONS Up for sale is a rare 1955 Chevrolet Nomad. I picked up this car last fall on a hunting trip and brought it home just as you see it. I do not really want to sell the car, but I am limited on space at my new home and would like to build a pole barn. The car has been stored inside for the last 15 years until a friend found it for me. I was looking for a 57 sedan delivery at the time but thought this car was very cool. I WILL NOT SELL PARTS FROM THIS CAR, YOU MUST BID ON IT TO WIN IT. Car is for sale via auction only. There is no buy it now, and I will not end the auction early. Nothing else in background is for sale. As you can see from the pictures, the car is a project. I do believe it could be redone into a nice original or hotrod. The body is in restorable but marginal condition. The front end is a fiberglass tilt style. The car also comes with the original steel front end plus an extra fender. All the fenders will need work at the brow area, patch panels are available. The hood is nice. The roof is in great shape, with no rust through that is common in these cars. The doors are pretty good, with exception to a section someone cut out of the bottom of the inside of the drivers door. At some time in the past, someone started replacing floors and rockers. They did a pretty good job of it from the back of the rear seat area forward, but did a hack job in the cargo area by only laying flat steel over the rusted areas. It should be redone in my opinion. The tailgate upper is very nice. The steel lower is rotted out on the bottom, but should be fixable. I personally have fixed worse in the past. There is only one good piece of glass for the car, a brand new rear hatch window. The car will need all other glass. I do have the broken side windows that still have the chrome on them. As for trim and chrome, the car is very complete. The previous owner told me the only pieces missing are the passenger fender headlight brow and the front bumper. As I went through everything it appears he was correct. I did not find either piece. The previous owner parted out another nomad and a belair hardtop for extra trim and parts, so there are many extra parts and double pieces of trim in the car. I did find all 7 of the tailgate bars and the large inside rear window chrome pieces. There is no motor or transmission. The car was originally a V8 3 speed manual car. The dashboard is very nice, and has never been cut. The rear quarter panels have been skimmed in bondo. When looking from underneath it looks like they were working with dents, as I see no rust through or patches. As for interior, the panels are there for patterns and the chrome, but in poor shape. There is a seat bottom that may or may not be for this car. There is no front seat, and the original steering wheel is gone. There is an extra heater, and I did find the fuel door and glove box stuff. The fuel tank is in good shape. The car rolls and steers nicely and the tires will hold air for a few days so you can roll it around. The steering wheel is not original. The car is being sold as is where is in East China Michigan 48054. The title is clear and in my name. I can not send any more pictures to anyone, as I don't have the net at home I only get online at work every few days. If you send questions, I will answer them as soon as possible, but it may be a day or two. You are always welcome to come and view the car in person before bidding, but I will not sell it outside of ebay. For sale via auction only. You must bid to win and I will not end auction early. High bidder wins. Full payment due within 7 days of auction end. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are interested, I do deliver and can give you a quote if you email me your address. If high bidder chooses to have me deliver, full payment for car AND delivery is due BEFORE I deliver. I deliver anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Car must be picked up within 30 days of auction close. No exceptions. After 30 days you forfiet rights to item and no refunds will be made.
