Vehicle Detail
800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Here it is - a Real Collectible Muscle Car!! A 1968 Pontiac Red Firebird Convertible - with triple white strip down the side. The car has a white Convertible top with black bucket seats and center console. A real collectible with being 42+ years old with only 70,000 original miles!! This is right - 70,000 miles. This car is untouched, un-molested, and is 100% stock! All Original!! All Complete!!! The engine has no leaks and the car runs very strong - and has been well taken car of!!! My Dad thought this was THE CAR to have back in 1968!!! The 350 V8 265 hp @ 4600 rpm, 355 lb-ft of Torque @ 2800 rpm – engine is very strong! This car will set you right back into the bucket seats when you hit the accelerator - it has mega torque. I accidently chirped the tires in the garage when I was pulling the car out of the garage this week - and that is with the engine was not fully warmed up. It has an electric/hydraulic convertible top flips up and down with no problems with the flick of the switch on the dashboard. Definitely a great ride with the top down!! Puts you right back to 1968!! Nothing like the older convertibles – a lot of great memories!! I just replaced the convertible top switch new - and I also have a new Top Hydraulic Pump that comes with the car that I purchased - but did not need. The Convertible top hoses and original pump are in great shape and no leaks. This car has been stored by my family in a heated garage under a car cover for a total of 30+ years!!! It was 17+ years in my heated garage under car cover and another 15+ years in a family member’s heated garage under car cover – just pulled out yearly just to start the engine and take a quick spin. The engine is very strong!! The original paint is in great condition - just needs a good cleaning and waxing. This car was not abused at all. Is in great shape with all the car fully intact. Since General Motors a couple years ago disbanded the Pontiac car brand, once marketed as GM's "Excitement division. This car will be worth Mega $$$ in the future. GM sold this car as one of the "wide-track" designs that became a major selling and advertising point giving Pontiac cars a distinct cornering advantage over other cars at the time. This Pontiac was also from the heavy-horsepower days before the early '70s – when the muscle car era ended as gas prices rose. The Pontiac Firebird was a flashier version as compared to its brother the Cheverolet Camaro. This car is very clean – the interior seats are fine – no major rips – the carpet is black and in excellent shape – Center Console in great shape – needs to have the top dashboard replaced from minor sun cracks – but the rest of the interior, dash, instruments are in great shape. The car starts right up - just had new distributor cap, plug wires, and plugs installed by my Mechanic last year. The car also recently had the oil and Antifreeze changed – so the car runs great. The body is also in excellent shape – only a very small rust spot near the battery holder from the battery acid over the years. No other rust on the car. The Convertible top works great and has Izing Glass for the rear window – but could use replacing – but is fine. The convertible hydraulics work great – flips back with the electric hydraulic mechanism! The engine has special valve covers and air cleaner added at the Dealer - this was an option that the dealers would put on the car. The same with the pin striping. The engine has a 2 barrel carburator - looks to have no leaks at all. Very clean. Every year I just put a new battery in the car - it starts right up with no troubles at all. The Trunk is solid - no leaks. The underneath is clean. You can still get original parts for these cars from YearOne Performance. They have parts magazines on all the parts for 1968 Pontiac's. I checked the NADA Classic Car Pricing today – for an all Original stock car with low mileage - The Average Retail is $25,520 and the High Retail is $45,100!!!! This car is priced well below that - price to sell. The wife has told me to clean out the garage - she wants to park her vehicle there!!! I am selling this car for a friend. Because of the car age, it is sold where is, as is – but you will not be disappointed. I just drove the car tonight with the wife today – it is a real head turner!! This is a truly a real classic and collectible car!! Give me a call on my cell# (203) 470-2587 if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to look at the car. Spring is coming - this car is ready to take a spin with the top down!!!! This car could really be worth the $45,100 with minimal work!!!! A Turnkey - Complete Car - Ready to Drive!!! Definitely turn some heads with this car. Plus it is a solid car!!! The Buyer is responsible for pickup and shipping if needed. $500.00 Down Payment Required 48 hours after purchase via PayPal.
