You know that Spring is just around the corner. And, you know that you don’t want to miss a day of it! Be ready with this 2005 Honda Gold Wing touring motorcycle in Candy Black Cherry. You’ll really appreciate the large comfortable seats for rider and passenger on those long rides. A wide windshield and cowling provide wind deflection and exceptional weather protection. Packing for the trip is easy with a spacious trunk and saddlebags. I purchased this Gold Wing in 2005 as a theft recovery. It was fully operational but it had lots of cosmetic damage. The right side had rub rash, broken fairing and broken mirror. The trunk box had been smashed and broken in to. The left side had some minor scratches. Remarkably, the seats were perfect – not a scratch. I included four pictures of what the box and right side looked like before I bought it. It looked pretty sad then, but I think that you’ll agree that the damage was light - expensive, but light. It has a regular Texas title with a remark “Rebuilt Salvage – Issued by Ohio.” I bought it from a dealer in Ohio. I spared no expense in bringing it back to new condition. It cost a bundle, but I bought all new parts down to the last fastener from Honda. I painted NOTHING, all parts were factory painted and they matched perfectly. As soon as I repaired it, I took it to my local Honda dealer for a complete checkup. They found nothing wrong. It had 4473 miles when I bought it. I’ve driven it flawlessly for 5 years and now it has 7420 miles. I have babied it and it has been garage kept since I have owned it. It is equipped with the optional 6-CD changer. It has Kuryakyn highway pegs, levers, handlebar caps, and chrome accents on the instrument panel. Also included is a factory shop manual, owner’s manual, and two sets of color-matched keys. Take a look at the pictures and see if you don’t agree that it looks new. There are two raspberries: one on the very top of the trunk lid, next to the seatback; the other on the right side of the front fender. See the two pictures with the circles surrounding the affected spots. So, why am I selling it, you ask? Chassis/Suspension - The innovative aluminum frame is specifically engineered for optimum rigidity with tuned flex. The solid engine-mounting system utilizes specially designed hangers and carefully matched mounting bolts to provide both excellent road feel and minimal engine vibration. - The Gold Wing's rigid Pro Arm single-side cast aluminum swingarm provides simplified servicing of the rear wheel and tire, while assuring optimum handling. - Honda's LBS features a second master cylinder and a three-stage proportional control valve (PCV) to couple the three-piston calipers of the dual-front and single-rear brake discs. Using the front brake lever activates the outer two pistons of the front right-side caliper and the center piston of the front left-side caliper and, acting through the secondary master cylinder and an inline proportioning valve, the outer two pistons of the rear caliper. The rear brake pedal operates the center piston of the rear brake caliper, the center piston of the front right-side brake caliper and the outer two pistons of the front left-side caliper. A delay valve sensitive to the rider's pedal pressure smooths front brake engagement. - Massive, 45mm front fork houses a cartridge damper in the right leg with 5.5 inches of travel for a smooth yet superb ride in all road conditions. - Anti-dive system minimizes front fork dive when braking. The system utilizes brake fluid pressure generated in the secondary LBS master cylinder mounted on the left fork leg and is activated by input from either the front brake lever or the rear brake pedal.
