Vehicle Detail
1948 Ford Cab Over Truck, turned into car hauler, with original extended cab. Truck has minor body work needed, dent in bed body passenger side size of softball, no paint crack, minor rust spot in lower cab portion. Glass is intact and as far as I know is original. Emblems are present, all not shown in picture. Unsure of exact mileage. Truck needs minor work on body, repair dent and rust spot, paint and interior. The bed was wood which has been destroyed by weather. Rencently had new breaks, tires and tune-up, compression in engine strong. Truck belonged to my late husband and selling as new boyfriend not intersted in keeping it, he is more into muscle cars. If you have questions let me know as either he or my mechanic will answer them. Vehicle is being stored at mechanic shop and has had items placed on bed (in picture) and was not in a place to get good pictures. I am available to show truck in person or can take cam to truck and show over SKYPE if desired. Buyer to pay $1500 within 72 hours, balance due within 7 days. Truck to be picked-up by end of 7 days. Truck able to be driven, if going a long way will want to trailer as you know how older vehicles are especially when away from town.On Apr-26-11 at 01:24:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Revised 4/26/ Ok, this listing is an example of why you should let your family know informaion about your vehicles! Some of the information I had was from the world of "I think", "they told me", etc. to now I KNOW. The truck is built on a Cadilack El Dorado chasis, 500 cubic inch motor, transmition, and drive. It is front wheel drive with two trailor axels in back, lots of bracing was used in the bed area. The bed is 74" between wheel walls, 157" long from back of bed to beginning of ramp that is 22", 17" from the ground. The body is solid, the only rust is some surface rust in the interior of the truck where some unfinished sheet metal was used. The dent that I thought was present is actually part of the design of the bed of the truck, it is not a dent, but rather a bend in the metal (so much for memory). There is paint peeling off the top of the body (you can see it in one of the pictures). The body is 82" from the top to the ground. You can see my friend standing next to the truck, he is 6', to get an idea how tall it is. There is an extension of the cab 33" from the end of the door. The interior has the driver seat and two jump seats in the back, someone took out the passenger seat, you will want to replace as they are junk. The interior has to be totally completed, it does not appear that anything was done to alter the dash board. In one of the pictures you will notice that the rear windows have open/close mechanisms. I cannot think of anything else about the truck. If you still have questions ask, but not sure if I would have an answer. To help you with "looking" at the truck I took some video (will not win any Academy Award) so that you can get a better idea of what is there and what is not there. http://www.youtube.com/user/cajunq13?feature=mhum#p/u/4/wJVZwgB_8p8
