Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE! NEW LOW PRICE! THE BEST DEAL ON THE INTERNET! This 1970 442 was purchased from the original owner twelve years ago. All of the service records from its first oil change are included with the car. At 102,000 miles, the engine was rebuilt at a cost of $3700 by a GM dealer. Number seven piston had a skirt break. There was no damage to the original block but it was bored .030 with new pistons, camshaft and lifters installed. (Camshaft and lifters were purchased from Supercars Unlimited in Portland, OR), The crank and bearings were inspected and found to be perfect. This 442 runs stronger than ever! This is a numbers matching 442 with the only modification being headers installed. The car has manual brakes, power steering, oil cooler and 3.42 Posi rear end as equipped from the factory. The TH400 transmission shifts solid and will chirp the tires on the second gear shift. The paint on the car is not perfect. Over time there has been some shrinkage of the clear coat on the hood and trunk deck. It can only be seen in the correct light. All of the body panels are solid with no rust. The car has been garaged its entire life. It has not been in any accidents to the best of my knowledge. The drivers seat has a split seam in the seat cushion. (A new front set of seat covers and foam from Legendary Interiors is included with the car) The headliner and door panels are perfect. The package shelf is in good condition with slight sun fading. HERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER! If you are looking for a PERFECT car, PLEASE do not bid. This car is NOT a trailer queen. This car is a driver. However, I do not drive it in the rain as the under carriage is completely detailed. The car receives "thumbs up" whenever we drive it. We have enjoyed it for years. It did win a First Place award at the 2001 Olds Nationals, scoring 940 points. (I am keeping the trophy). At a local car show of all brands this past summer, the car won Best of Class in the '70's Muscle Car Category. A $1,000 deposit via PayPal is required within 24 hours with the balance to paid by wire transfer to my bank account within five days after the close of the auction. Remember that if you place a winning bid you have entered into a binding contract and will be required to complete the sale. You may call me on my cell, 253-576-1128, if you have any questions. The car is located in Puyallup, WA, 30 miles south of Seattle. If you need to arrange a vehicle transporter, I can recommend several.
