Our Public Works department replaces these trucks on a rotation and not because they are junk...don't ask me why, they just do. This truck is a 2001 International 4900 series, 3 ton dump with a 10 foot, fully hydraulic, Monroe snow plow. It also has central hydraulics so it can be set up for a salt spreader but a spreader does not come with it. It is equipped with an air operated tailgate lock, yellow Walen strobes and a yellow light bar. It has a 6 cyl DT466 diesel engine and an Allison 5 spd automatic transmission. It has 38,997 miles on it, 2968 hours and it is garaged in a heated garage. In the last year it has had new springs, brakes, king pins, a high pressure air pump, an oil pan and I am sure other things. This truck passed the Illinois truck safety inspection last month.
