Vehicle Detail
Spring is here, the snow is melting, everyone else is getting their motorcycles out, don't be left behind! This bike for sale is a 1978 Honda CB750F, a vintage classic with nearly all the modern amenities. The last year of the SOHC 4 superbike engine that started the Japanese inline 4 revolution. The dual disc front brakes and rear disc, with braided steel front brake lines, give you even better stopping power than it had in 1978. Condition: The bike is mechanically sound and has been ridden regularly for the past four years. The brakes have plenty of pad left, the tires could each go on for at least one more season, the chain is only 2 years and less than a thousand miles old and regularly lubricated. The oil has been changed regularly and the points cleaned and plugs replaced last spring. This bike will happily carry you anywhere for another 30 years more if you keep up with your maintenance. It needs nothing and is ready to ride now. Like any SOHC 4 it's a little cold blooded, keep the choke on for a bit and away you go! Cosmetic condition: After 30 years the original paint is well worn and well used. There are no major dents, but plenty of smaller scratches, clear coat flaking etc that you would expect from 30 years riding. The bike has a four into one exhaust and an aftermarket muffler, the original muffler was long gone when I got the bike. There are a few small tears in the seat cover, but it is still serviceable and intact. It's a great start for a restoration, or keep on riding it as is, well loved. To the winning bidder I am including 3 manuals for the care and maintenance of this bike. All are in good shape. These include the Haynes, Clymer, and the factory Honda Shop manual with the model specific supplements in the back. Also included are several small boxes of assorted parts. I do not have an exact inventory but they do include several sets of old points and condensers. Save time in the spring by filing down a spare set of points out of the bike! A few spare/lightly used spark-plugs. Assorted spare screws nuts and bolts. Etc. I also have a non-running parts engine that I will gladly give away with the bike. History: I have ridden this bike yearly since 2007, prior to that it belonged to a good friend of mine for several years. He registered and inspected the bike each year but did not ride it often as he had two other motorcycles at the time. He sold me the bike as my first bike, and until only recently my only bike. Over the past four years it has taken me on many rides all over New England and I love it very, very much, but I needed something a little larger for myself and my wife to ride. So I've got to let it go. As mentioned, I am selling this bike because I need to make room for my new motorcycle. The CB has been stored out of the weather all winter and I just got it out a few weeks ago, charged the battery and it fired right up. I have not ridden this year because my registration has run out and I have been focused on getting my new bike ready for the riding season. Videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x97VW-iZoOM A walk around, starting the bike, testing the lights and horn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvBS16yVGYw Pretty much the same, a little longer. Also shows the bike manuals, parts boxes and side cover off the bike. The crash bars are not included in this auction because they do not fit this model CB. Want to know more about the CB750, check out this great forum http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php Payment , transfer of ownership, and pickup of the bike: I will expect a $500.00 deposit at the close of auction and the remainder upon the transfer of ownership/pickup of bike. I will include my former registration and a full bill of sale with the bike, I do not have a title for the bike as NH does not require one for older motor vehicles. I do not imply, promise nor guaranty any sort of warranty on the bike, books or parts included in this auction lot. The bike and all paraphernalia are being sold AS IS. When the auction closes I will expect a payment $500.00 via paypal. Final payment will be due in full when the auction winner picks up the motorcycle, bill of sale and former registration papers. The bike is for pickup only, it is no longer registered as of March 31st so I can not ride it to you and I do not have access to a truck. I do not have the ability to ship the bike, winning bidder is responsible for transporting the bike from Manchester, NH on their own. Good luck bidding! If you're looking for a vintage bike that's ready to ride or ready to restore, this is the bike for you!
