Vehicle Detail
1972 Pontiac Catalina Convertible; Original blue paint; original white interior; 400 cu engine; 3 speed automatic; Power Steering; Power Brakes; Runs Good. Never used in the winter, but it has some rust. Good frame. Good floors. Just passed New York State inspection at Country Club Chevrolet. One rear sub rail back by the gas tank has a hole. 3 holes in the trunk. The frame is good or I would not have an inspection sticker in the window, and I drive the car a lot now that the weather broke. Have another car, that is under the cover, but can't afford 2. Look at the pictures and you will see where the body panel rust is. The car has new plugs and wires, new original rebuilt carburetor; new brake line; new gas line; new fuel pump; new battery; new radiator cap; gas tank has been cleaned and new gas tank sending unit installed. Top works. Passenger door needs to be reconnected inside as it does not open. AM Radio works good. Heater works good. It is not an AC car. Exhaust is good. Flies down the Interstate 88, 70-80 miles an hour smooth as a rocket. Fun car. It needs restoring so if you are looking for a restored car or one without any issues, this is not it. All glass is good and all windows work. Top is good, works and does not leak, but down by the bottom by the trunk, it is sagging. Don't have the boot. If you want a jump in and cruise night car, that's what this is. If you want something nicer, you will need to restore it. Otherwise enjoy it, like I do. I just can't afford 2 collectibles any more. Times are tough. Cheap entry level car. It will have a low reserve for a classic convertible that is unrestored and original. Bid to own. Any questions, e-mail me. I have tried to descibe this car as accurately as possible. If you choose, have fun bidding. On Apr-16-11 at 06:54:36 PDT, seller added the following information: The green and red wire you see in the picture under the hood, is hooked up to an electric fuel pump on the wheel well. In the trunk is a new manual fuel pump if you want to change it out. Old pump still on the car. Too cold to change last winter. I am 60 years old and I'm not hooking up the manual laying on the ground. Electric works fine. So, in the trunk is a new manual one that goes with the car.
