Vehicle Detail

thewholesaleflagsstore Store 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible: I am selling my 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible which I have owned since the mid 90s. This car has only been used for occasional summer driving on sunny days and has been garage kept. The car runs very well and is in solid condition. I was in the process of freshening it up when I decided to just sell it. You now have the opportunity to paint the car according to your own requirements and decide if you want to raise the scale of the restoration to a higher quality restoration or keep it as more of a driver type antique. This will be a fantastic car for someone who wants a complete a VW Restoration and drive a Convertible VW Beetle on summer days. Mechanical: The Motor was rebuilt in the mid 90s and has low mileage(<5,000) on it. It runs very well and has been very dependable during my 17 years of ownership. It has a four speed manual transmission that has always shifted smoothly and flawlessly. The car runs very well and I am not aware of anything mechanical that the car will need. Brakes: The Brakes work well and I am not aware of anything that is needed in this area. Exterior: The exterior of the car is in solid condition but it could use some mild body work and repainting. The car was restored and repainted in the mid 90s and is in solid condition but I would not classify this car as Show Quality or anything close to it. It was always a nice looking car but more of a driver type quality. The body currently has some scratches and will need some mild body work. I have tried to point out some of the items needing repair with pictures but I cannot show every detail. As you can see, the right rear fender has just been replaced as the old one had a slight dent on it. The floors are in good solid shape and do not appear to need anything. They were replaced prior to my getting the car and have held up well. They were undercoated by the prior owner as can be seen in the pictures. Interior: The seats are in good condition. I am aware of a very small spot on the driver’s seat but am not aware of anything else. The rugs are in good shape as hopefully can be seen by the pictures. Electrical: The electrical components of this car have always worked fine and I am not aware of anything that is needed in that area. Convertible Top: The Convertible top is in good shape and was put on new in the mid 90s. It is a canvas top with a glass rear window. The one item that is needed is the plastic molding around the rear window. It has popped off some and should be an easy fix. This should be able to be seen from the pictures. I also have an extra convertible rear window should you want it. Miscellaneous: I want to emphasize that I did remove some of the miscellaneous part in preparation for painting. These removed parts include: the headlight rims, tail lights, door handles, etc. These parts are in good condition except for the front bumper which does have some surface rust on it. I have attached a picture of those parts for your reference. Overall: This will be a very nice car for someone who is looking for a relatively easy project to complete. I would again rate this car as more of a driver type restoration and not show quality but it has always been a very nice looking car and has received many positive comments over the years. This will be an excellent VW Convertible for someone to own and it will bring someone many years of pleasure. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability but cannot possibly describe every item about it. I have also tried to show many pictures to give you a good understanding of the condition of this car. I invite you to inspect the car prior to bidding and you are welcome to ask any questions that you wish. Keep in mind that the car is 41 years old and is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. Good Luck with your Bidding.
