1959 VW Baja Bug chasis with a 1956-1958? Body. We are not sure what year the body is but, a local VW Club member thinks it's a 1956 or 57 judging by the doors and the dash. Please bid accordingly. This vehicle was purchased from a family friend who had invested quite a bit of money into it judging by the receipts for parts and work, all which will go with the bug. The interior looks as if it has been done recently. Seat covers, head liner and carpet all appear to be in good condition. There is a little bit of surface rusting as you can see in one of the pictures. It has sat for some time so we changed out the fuel pump and filter and flushed the oil and filled with synthetic and replaced the battery. It started up with a little bit of coaxing. No seat belts and the emergency brake needs work. Tires are in good shape with lots of tread left. There is rust on the underside but, we were told this is fairly common at that location since that is where the heater channels are and so there is condensation there. When we fueled it up to test drive it we noticed gas odor in the cab but, we haven't done any investigation on it. This bug would make an excellent project for somebody who wants to put in a liitle bit of work and have a nice little classic baja bug. Bug comes with tow bar and lights and is easily towed. Also comes with spare side nerf bar and off road stinger as shown. It is current in registration and we have the pink slip in hand.
