This is a first-generation 2003 Matrix XRS with a 6-speed manual transmission in Lunar Mist Metallic. Bought in February 2002, its been well-maintained with regular oil changes every 3,000-4,000 miles and major required tuneups. The car currently has approximately 112,800 miles on it and Ive averaged about 25.5 mpg with it. Auction bidding starts at $3,500, and Buy It Now is set to $4,000. KBB reports this vehicle in fair condition at $5,750 (KBB report link) Features 2zz-GE engine (producing 180 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque) 6-speed manual transmission 17-inch alloy wheels Disc brakes Driver/Passenger airbags Front/Rear side airbags Sony single CD player with Aux port (original 6-CD changer also available) Power windows Power doors 60/40 fold-flat rear seating Hidden Hitch for light towing Light window tinting on backseat and rear windows History I was the original purchaser of this Matrix and have maintained it regularly with oil changes every 4,000-5,000 miles, 90+ octane gasoline, and major servicing as required. In the last couple of years Ive had the clutch replaced, had a new catalytic converter and oxygen sensor installed, and also had the front struts replaced. All of these repairs were due to normal wear and tear. I have a record of all gas fill-ups and mileage, which I can send to the buyer for documentation purposes. I also have records of most other servicing which I can also include. Condition This is a 9-year-old vehicle thats been used as a daily driver in both California and New York, so there is some wear as noted in the attached pictures. Damage In particular, there is a small rust spot on the drivers side A-pillar. There are two deep scrapes on the front bumper. There is a dent and light scrape on the passenger side beneath the A-pillar. There are scrapes and scratches all along the side skirts and ground effects. And there are several dings, scrapes and scratches on the back bumper. In the interior, there are scratches in the cargo area of the trunk and fold-flat seating. There are slight scrapes along the center right air vent. There are light scrapes on the driver side front door panel from normal exit/entry. Tires The current tires are probably good for a little while longer, but will need a rotation and at least a 2-tire replacement relatively soon. Now that the weather is warming up, you can probably push this a little further. Shipping and Payment I would prefer to deal with a local, Tri-state buyer if possible (NY/NJ/CT). If you are interested in the car and do not live nearby, shipping costs are your responsibility, as are any travel fees to come inspect and/or pick up the car. Payment Terms The successful high bidder will submit a $500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed (i.e. check clears) before delivery of the vehicle. Remaining payment may be made only by certified bank check or bank transfer. If youre local, Id prefer to conduct the final transaction at your local bank branch.
