1963 Karmann Ghia Coupe A beautiful example this classic. Car is almost totally original from the interior in brick red to the correct 36 horsepower engine and original solid floors. The ghia is still 6 volt and runs and drives excellent for a 48 year old time capsule with 73k original miles. No dents or dings in the body. Car runs, drives and shifts as expected it also has brand new tires. Even the heat and defrost work as they should. This rare Ghia has only had two previous owners. Looks as though the inner and outer rockers have been replaced and the car has had one re-spray in its original color L87 pearl white. The original door panels are almost perfect, as are the original rubber floor mats. The original German squareweave carpet is still there, but not in the best condition, as I didn’t have the heart to replace it. The drivers side seat is a little rough, but could possibly be repaired. The passenger side seat shows wear, but is presentable. I had a hard time replacing the original materials, since it is so rare to still see them (see pics) The glass is original as far as I can tell with no fogging. The heater channels are solid and the car still maintains its original bumpers and bumperettes, but they are far from perfect. Much has been completed, but as with any 48 year old car, there are still a few things that remain, the worst of it is a poor repair under the front nose (see pics). Not visible from looking at the car from the front, but is obvious if you look at it from underneath. There are a few other minor things that may not have not been mentioned that still need to be done, such as radio and clock do not work and headliner needs to be replaced, but car can be driven with confidence as is.
