Vehicle Detail
This car is probably the most original surviving example of a FORD ESCORT GT FIA HOMOLOGATED CAR, with a 1600 LOTUS Twin cam engine, LHD, made at FORD Germany in 1969. The car is in unrestored very good condition and has NEVER BEEN RACED. I am selling this car in behalf of my cousin, Mr. Alfonso Ballon, who is the third owner of the car and an enthusiast FORD AVO OWNER's CLUB member. This car is one of 3 cars that came to Peru back in 1969 to compete at local races and at CAMINO's DEL INCA famous Peruvian national endurance race, but his first owner loved the car so much that kept it untouched as his trophy. Two articles about this particular car were published by HAVOC magazine on February and April 2005. They also sent details about the FIA homologation that I will send to anyone who is seriously interested in buying this car. This model is a left hand drive that was built at FORD's KOLN WERKE AG, WESTERN GERMANY probably to let FORD race in Germany too. There were not more than 100 such cars made in Germany that year, so this is truly a unique car and in an excelent condition. The car has been driven only 110,000 km. The engine has 5,000 km after last overhaul. Pistons are brand new, exhaust valves have been replaced recently and newer twin cams have been set up. The generator was replaced for an alternator, but the original one with its brackets still exist and is beeing housed properly. The same applies to the power booster for the brake system. The interior of the car has been redone in black leather instead of the original vinyl. Front shock absorbers are new Bilsteins. Double rear shocks were replaced by the previous owner and are still in good condition. The car is wearing its original magnesium minilites. The sound of the car is superb and the handling too. Last October I sold my 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia SS 1600 at e-Bay to a Brasilian antique's car collector that can be contacted to give further references about me and the last deal we did together. Please bid only if you are a serious buyer/collector. Payment Instructions: We are asking the winner to deposit a 10% of the closing price no later than 3 days after the auction closure as a reserve fee. If we do not receive the reserve fee we will contact the previous highest bidder and will close the deal with him or hold another auction at once. best regards Roberto F. Dasso rdv180466@yahoo.es 0051 981 222 666 Special note: This car has a reserve price: "A reserve price is the minimum price the seller will accept. This price is hidden from bidders. To win a bidder must have the highest bid and have met or exceeded the reserve price."
