Vehicle Detail

2005 GMC Sierra 2500 Std Cab Shortbed Duramax...yes, I said SWB Duramax. It is a factory 2 wheel drive regular cab Duramax...and I built it into a street-fighter looking shortbed with a strong running diesel burning, towing little monster. I started out by ordering a GMC 2500 regular cab and chassis w/ a Duramax in only a 2 wheel drive. I then had the frame shortened and a long list of other modifications all professionally done to put a standard shortbed box on it. So, this isn't a flimsy weak 1500 series with a diesel transplant...NO, its a real 2500 with the Allison transmission, 3/4 ton frame, 8 lug wheels and the heavy duty rear-end. Because it was never an extended cab, long bed or 4x4, it is 2300lbs lighter with the same Duramax power to only 2 wheels. Naturally, with all that power and less weight...I did the only logical thing left - I chipped it!! Here is a partial list of some of the things that I have done to it: Lowered 2" and 4" with Air Ride suspension - Airaid Fresh Intake Air Box - Performance Exhaust (effective yet still quiet) - MKW 20" chrome wheels with 305x50x20 Toyo tires - PowerEdge Juice and Attitude chip w/ 6 settings - Relocated tow receiver that is hidden behind rear license plate - Sprayed in bedliner - Painted bumpers, grill, cross bar, mirrors, tailgate handle cover, door handle covers, and tailgate top plate. It has factory AM/FM/CD stereo, A/C, Tilt, Cruise Control, Power Windows, PDL, P/Seat, PS, PB...basically the standard SLE package except with cloth interior in place of leather. I built the truck for two reasons: 1) To see if it could be done since I tried and tried to get GM to special built this exact thing for me, and they wouldn't. 2) Because I wanted something that nobody else had or maybe even thought of...and I'll have to say that I've NEVER seen another one like it - and this might very well be the ONLY one you will EVER see!! I've enjoyed it and it has been a true delight to drive and show alike. As you might imagine, with 99,500 miles...it works like its supposed to and I've covered the distance to prove it. Its never been used as a truck per se...and I've only towed with it a few times so its mostly been my daily driver with street use. Its always been in AZ and its always been garaged. As you can see...its CLEAN!! It has always been maintained and like you can see in the pictures, its in very nice condition. You will have a blast in this truck and get used to answering the question: "Is that a diesel - I didn't know they made them in a SWB 2wd??" Then the fun begins - I normally tell them its a COPO...special order from the central office. LOL! I actually had one guy track me down a few weeks after calling all over GM's offices to ask me again how he could get one made for him. I had to give him the bad news and tell him that I had to build it to the tune of over $60k!!! You can buy it now for significantly less. Don't let this thing pass you by...I seriously doubt you will ever find another one built, much less for sale. Feel free to call me with any questions that you might have (480)-577-9700. Thanks for your interest.
