1989 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 with a 4.2l 6cyl. (258cu in) auto. trans. Motor will start and run but will not idle. trans slips a little from 2nd to 3rd. replaced the head gasket,intake & exhaust gaskets, thermostat and housing last week, However, the head tested fine at the local machine shop n required no shaving but the engine is still getting some water in the oil. POSSIBLY CRACKED BLOCK. dont kno for sure. The body n paint are nice with the typical jeep issues around the windshield. mainly the rubber gasket at the bottom dried up n is cracking. a little paint is flaking off the fender flares up front.Has a newer bestop soft top and the transfer case was replaced right before i got 2 yrs ago. previous owner had all front suspension n bushings replaced including ball joints in jan.2009 but he could not find the reciept although i could visually see the new parts. the front seats are out of a '70 charger i think.much more comfortable than the stock ones.the rear floor has been HERCULINED and is solid.Front floors are painted black and are sollid as well.
