Vehicle Detail
1972 Plymouth SatelliteExtremely Nice Example* A/C * Bucket Seats * Slap Stick * Very rare high optioned California Satellite with (C56) bucket seats, center console with the optional upgraded “slap stick” shifter, also an (H51) A/C car that WORKS. Thats right the A/C blows ice cold. This car really is for the Mopar connoisseur, the person that realizes that there are probably only a handful of cars in existence that are this original, this highly optioned, this straight, and this rust-free. It is a time warp car that looks like a true survivor and obviously never made it to the stage in a cars life where they are left to deteriorate. Finished in (Y4) Honeydew exterior and originally a (VX5) black stripe. Powered by the (E44) 318ci 2 BBL engine and shifted by the (D34) Torque Flight, this car is an extremely reliable muscle car let alone Mopar. I am not exaggerating when I say that she starts immediately even after sitting a month or two. There is no need to charge her before heading out on a cruise. She is not finicky and starts immediately every time. A true great cruiser. If you are looking for a nostalgic classic that you can hop in and cruise without “issues” then this Satellite is the car for you. No need to alter her in anyway, as she gets more looks then a resto-mod. How often do you see a car that looks like you are back in time! She spent her life in Arizona and California and was even originally built with CA emissions. Best bodied Mopar I have been around. Very very rust free with just some small (about the size of an eraser) outward bubble under the Vinyl. Repainted at some point, but the paint is still in great shape with a few rock chips behind the front wheels. The doors are perfectly straight with no sage and shut perfect, as are the fenders, quarters and trunk. The floors are great, the trunk floor just has some minor surface bubbling at the seams (see the pics). I hate even mentioning it, it is so minor. The front grill is perfect, the front bumper is just about perfect. The rear bumper has some very small pitting on the lower portion but to most would appear perfect. The window trim is great and the glass is really the best I have seen on a Mopar. Interior: Looks to be original to me. Very nice condition and a pleasure to ride in. One tear at the seam about two inches on the drivers seat, and the same on the drivers rear seat. The rest looks great. All the trim is there and not altered. The instrument cluster isn't cut nor is the radio slot. Still has original radio and it works! The top of the dash cover does have cracks, that is the part of the car that shows the most wear, it is currently covered with a dash mat. Carpet is original and in good shape as is the headliner. Again, look at the pictures to truly get a sense of this car. Engine/Trans: Powered by its original 318 and shifted by an automatic transmission with the optional Slap Stick shifter. Her engine compartment is very clean and original and most of the stickers from the factory are present. It still has its fender tag and has both of its build sheets. Original A/C car and still has all of its plumbing. This car always starts immediately, heads down the road straight and is fun to cruise. She doesn't pull or act finicky at all. We have left her in the garage for over two months, no leaks, no battery drain, she just started right up and drove great! Electrical: All the gauges work. The A/C blows ice cold, even the fender turn signals work. Amazingly, when you open the glove box the glove box light illuminates. Even the drivers door buzzes if you forget to take the key out. No drain on this car and she doesnt need to sit on a trickle charger. Satellites: Significant restyling was done for 1971 as the Satellite adopted new "fuselage" styled bodies, that was aircraft and space motivated. It had Swoopy lines, and big loop bumper/grill pieces. different wheelbases, grilles, and sheet metal for two and four door models. Sedans were available in base, Custom and Brougham trim, while two doors were called Satellite (a base coupe with rear windows that did not roll down), Satellite Sebring and Satellite Sebring Plus. Station wagons came in base, Custom or wood-trimmed Regent models. Two door models had an unusual loop type front bumper (a period Chrysler styling trend), and this body was the basis for the related GTX and Roadrunner models. -wikipedia Please read: Offered by Jeff 818-398-1829 at Classic Motor Cars a licensed Texas Dealer.
