Vehicle Detail

1964 Dodge D100, 95K miles on 318 V8 with 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. YouTube video of the truck starting, revving and a walk-around available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI5M545zEhY Runs OK, looks pretty cool. Truck was painted flat black with sand mixed in for a rough textured finish. The truck was originally dark "forest" green and the interior remains the original color. The inside of the bed is also the original green and was unpainted during the switch to flat black. The bronze bed-sides and white roof are not textured. The bumpers were rattle-canned white over the old paint. Looks pretty good, but far from a professional "cherry" finish. It's a rat rod, so it's supposed to look rough and tough! Wood bed is in good shape, just a little dirty. The cab has a clean bench seat and working B&M ratchet shifter. The old heater core was recently replaced with a newer used one and it blows hot. Wipers work and gas gauge works now after replacing the sending unit in the tank. Speedometer does not work. The amp-meter and temperature gauge both work. The dash oil light is always on when the truck is running even though the oil level is fine. There must be a short in the sending wire causing it to stay lit. The truck sits on 15 inch aluminum Eagle 5-Star rims with a deep offset wrapped in Hankook thin whitewall tires with about 80-85% tread all around. Has clear "Euro" turn signal lenses with amber bulbs and two of the headlights have been upgraded to H4 Halogen projectors. The rear 4-1/2 inch brake lights and turn signals are new. Dual mufflers are newer and in excellent condition. Because Chevrolet trademarked the term "stepside," Dodge could not call these "stepside" truck beds. Instead they settled on the awkward term "Utiline" to describe them. Dodge trucks from this era with plain, non-step beds were called "Sweptline." This one has the rare external spare tire carrier carved out of the driver's side rear fender. The truck currently has no spare, but the mounting equipment is all there. There is rust under the floormat in the footwell, but it hasn't broken through to the outside. There is minimal surface rust in the door stepwells, a common area where these trucks rust completely out. I was amazed when I saw that these areas were almost totally clean. Has new radiator, electronic ignition coil, master cylinder and new front brakes. Two-barrel carb is newly-rebuilt, but has no air cleaner. There is a manual choke cable for the carb in the cab. Engine is old but runs fair... a rebuild and 4-barrel carb would make it awesome. I drive it around San Francisco, but cannot recommend taking it on the highway. Buyer should plan on shipping the truck to its new home unless you live in San Francisco. I also have a lengthy maintenance/repair manual for the truck as pictured.
