Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 2001 Porsche 996 / 911 twin turbo in Seal Gray metallic with black leather interior and 6-speed manual transmission. This is a beautiful and well maintained example of one of the world's premier sportscars. It is also extremely fast. This was a one-owner car until November 2009. Options include digital sound package, body colored (gray) interior console, and full leather interior including dash and door panels, alcantara headliner, and optional heated full power supple leather lumbar seats with Porsche crests embossed in the headrests. I have the original window sticker showing a sticker price of over $116,000. The original owner added an FVD-Brombacher Stage 3 engine package good for 540 hp, 561 ft/lbs torque, and a claimed top speed of 205 mph! The package includes K24 race turbos, German TUV certified sport muffler, and reprogrammed DME (computer). No internal engine modifications were necessary, as the stock 996 turbo engine is based on the extremely sturdy and race-proven GT1 racing engine. Although the car is incredibly fast, it is also very practical. FVD-Brombacher is a very well regarded tuner in the Porsche world. They design their engine packages in Germany in conjunction with Bosch engineers for stock driveability and reliability. This really is a practical supercar. For handling to match the power, the car has been equipped with a Bilstein PSS 9 fully adjustable coil-over suspension. Ride height and firmness are adjustable. The six speed manual transmission is controlled by an upgraded 997 shifter. No second gear pop-out problems, and the G-Box detent has been installed to prevent this problem common to the 996 turbos. Currently has HRE 545R 19" wheels with Continental SportContact 2 tires. The stock wheels and tires are available separately. This turbo has always been very well maintained and cared for. It comes with a full Porsche dealer service history with records. 58,700 miles. Clean Carfax, no damage history. Recent clutch about 7,000 miles ago, and recently serviced with new water pump, spark plugs, and oil change. I also just had a full four-wheel alignment done by a good shop. This Porsche has always been well loved and it shows; it is truly in excellent condition. No dents or dings. It has never been tracked or abused. The original owner used the car for club activities and road trips. He had a clear bra installed which now shows a few nicks and a little wear, but it has done its job protecting the paint on the front of the car. This is an absolutely amazing car. The only reason I'm selling it is that we recently added a 997 turbo to the family and just don't need two! I encourage pre-purchase inspections and will make reasonable accommodations for inspections in person or by a qualified shop. Bid with confidence-- I did my homework before buying this car just over a year ago, and I got a good one!
