Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very clean, good running, good riding vehicle. I am the second owner of this car. I bought it used from a VW dealer in Rhode Island about 6 or 7 months ago as an interem car until I could find an suv that I wanted. I am a diesel mechanic so I knew what these cars were capable of as far as performance, mileage, and comfort. The car has been great, getting 28 to 40 MPG's depending on where and how its driven, i.e. residential or highway. It shows signs of some normal wear including a couple of very small nicks on the hood, and normal body scuffs (from bushes, or brush) that can be buffed out with no problem. It also has one tire rim that has some scuffing on it from the previous owner. The car had brand new tires on it when I got it, and I have only put a little over 5000 miles on it since I bought it. Now, the only problem I've had with it was a worn camshaft and a bad injector in the #1 cylinder. Being a mechanic I was able to change both of them myself with OEM VW parts. I do have the receipts for them as well as the old camshft for reference. At the dealer this job would have cost well over $3000 as the parts alone cost me about $1800. When I changed the cam out I inspected any and eveything I could lay my eyes on, including the timing belt, and found no other parts worn or in need of replacing. The car is located on the eastern end of Long Island, NY and is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end auction early. The mileage may change slightly as I am still using the car locally. I would like a $500 deposit, via paypal, cashiers check, or money order within 3 days of auction close. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all related charges. I will be happy to assist in loading the car if necessary. The cars appraisal value from the three known websites are as follows: KBB.com ($12,385) Nadaguides.com ($12,800) and Edmonds.com ($11,555) With that being said, I feel the asking price is very fair, so good luck!! I prefer emails, but if you really need to talk directly you can reach me on my cell (631) 236 3457. I will get back to you asap as I am pretty busy with work. Thanks very much
