Vehicle Detail

Relisting with a new lower starting price and lower reserve - This is a 1951 Ford F-3 pickup. The owner, my friend, recently passed away and I am helping his widow dispose of his vehicles. VIN F3R1SP13470. Mileage: Unknown (469.6 miles showing) He restored this truck himself. The truck is "done" with the exception of the bed floor. I would characterize it as a "good/ amateur" restoration, done over the last four or five years. I believe it was his first paint job, which shines well but was sprayed over some imperfect body work (you can still see some dings in the door, dents in the tailgate, roughness in the hood, paint runs under the window on the cab back). The color is black, probably enamel (definitely not base coat/clear coat). Exterior chrome (on the hood) is pitted. It's a nice driver condition - suitable for cruises, shows and parades but you wouldn't have to be concerned about the kids climbing on it. It looks like it was a farm truck at one time and was used as such. Interior presents itself very nicely; the seat covering is new and in a period correct looking mohair/velour type fabric. The floor covering is a more modern looking automotive carpet and is cut for the shifter opening but does not have a trim ring installed. There are seat belts in the two outboard seating positions. Powertrain is the Flathead V8 with a floor shifted four speed manual trans (reverse is to the right and back). Exhaust system appears relatively new and looks like it is stainless. Chassis is detailed, based on what I could see through the pickup box. Has a correct appearing Ford script battery installed; also comes with an additional generic 6V battery. Tires are 7.50-17 "Bedford" wide white and appear new (they still have the molding stubble on the tread surface), although they do have some checking in the white wall portion. Rims are 8 lug. I did not see any hubcaps when I was looking through the leftover parts. It has been pretty cold here so I did not try pulling the truck out to clean it up or did not try to start it. Once it warms up a bit I'll put a little charge in the battery and try to fire it up. The truck ran when parked, which was last fall after attending a local car show. All the usual disclaimers apply (this is a used vehicle, no warranty, don't bid unless you can pay, etc). Zero feedback bidders must contact me first or I will cancel your bid. I am not interested in selling overseas so please don't ask and don't bid if you are not from the 48 states. He seemed to keep nearly all the receipts, which are available for your reference and will go with the truck. Buyer will receive all the manuals that we have (owners manual, repair pamphlets and the Service Manual). Title is clear and in his wife's name. I'm happy to answer any additional questions or arrange for viewing, but the truck is not at my house so I ask your patience should we need to set that up. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I do have some contacts that I can put you in touch with if need be.
