Vehicle Detail
This is a 1971 Buick Skylark Convertible. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO FOLLOW THRU WITH THE SALE. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEED BACK PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO BIDDING. We took this in trade last year on a Corvette that we had and just have not had time to get to it. It is a project that is still worthy of fixing up. So we are going to offer it the way it sits. The car has a 350 2 BBL V-8 with Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes and Power Top. The power steering belt is stretched and needs replacing. We put some fluid in the brake cylinder and pumped them up and they will stop the car. Im sure they are going to need bleeding and adjusting to be correct. The motor runs great and transmission shifts in all the gears. The car had dual exhaust but now only has exhaust on drivers side. Some of the lights are working but will need some bulbs and contact cleaning to get everything working properly. Wipers work but need the arms and blades. Interior is intact but needs to be redone. Top frame and bows are in good condition but top material is shot. The header above the windshield does have rust through and needs replacing. The body has some rust. Lower rear quarter passenger side is rusted, drivers door is rusted, floor pan and trunk pan have rust and have been patched. Prior owner did quick fixes just so they could drive it as it had antique plates and didnt need a sticker. You could patch and fudge it up some more to get by until you are ready to fix it with the proper panels and do the job right. Early on in life the frame had been changed. I noticed it didnt have the box stiffeners so I guess its a hard top frame. Doesnt seem to bother as it has been like that forever. There is a rust spot on the very bottom of the frame near the front sway bar (very fixable). Everything else on the frame is solid.I know the car needs a lot of attention but there is not much out there especially in a convertible for little money. It does not have to be restored over night either . Do enough to get it on the road for now, enjoy for the up comeing summer and then go to town on it next winter. We reserve the right to end the auction early in case of a local sale. If the car meets the reserve we will let the auction run to the end to be fair to all bidders. sold on a maine dealer bill of sale and transfer forms. If you need a title in your state we will register the car for an additional fee of $150. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO CALL OR EMAIL US AT 207-324-5568 DAYS OR 207-432-2862 EVES AND SUNDAY
