Vehicle Detail
Bought this CBR in Spring 2010 from a private dealership. The fairings were in bad condition so they've been removed from the bike. The charging system was faulty causing the battery not to be recharged so I upgraded it over the summer. The voltage regulator/rectifier was replaced and wiring upgraded from the stock configuration along with the installation of a new battery. I also installed new front and rear tires for the bike so there are less 50 miles on the tread. A new chain and sprockets were also purchased, but not installed. The bike didn't have front turn signals when I purchased so I found some used replacements. So why am I selling? I bought the motorcycle for my wife knowing it would need some tool time put in. I've put in some time on it, but my wife and recently had a new baby. My original intention before our baby was to keep the ride and finish the work, but since she won't be able to ride for awhile we have decided selling it would be best. So the biggest issue I am working on the bike is that it once started I can ride down the street and at about 30 mph the acceleration becomes poor and I can no longer gain speed. When idling the bike has no issues and has great throttle response, but once in motion it becomes a different story. I also know there is another small faulty component since the bike won't idle with the kick stand down. So this bike isn't quite ready for serious riding, but if you are looking for a small project this would be the one.
