You are looking at (as far as I can tell) an original 1957 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop. This car is in excellent shape for its age. It has virtually no rust and the body is fairly straight. It does have a few dings but these are all very minor. I have been in the body shop business for 31 years and this car looks untouched. It would be the perfect weekend project car for anyone who loves Mercs. This is one of the easiest restoration projects I've seen. It appears to have the original 368 V-8, Merc-o-Matic transmission, and overdrive. The odometer reads 86,638. I dont know if this is accurate but it seems to be a working odometer. The car does run and drive, but needs some work. I don't think you could jump in it and cruise it as is. It would take minimal work to make it a daily driver. The interior looks original to me. If I were keeping the car, I would have it redone, but it really isn't in bad shape. All this car needs is a little body work, new paint, and a tune up and this will be a true show stopper. The title is the original title from 1957, and I have the original owners manual as well. This car is listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
