I am selling my 2000 Cadillac Deville. I bought the car in late 2004 and it has been a wonderful car. But since I have three other vehicles, I need to part with this car. There are a few things mechanically that may need to be addressed: First, there may be a sensor going out in the car that causes it to stall. It happened to me once and been ok since then but I’ve talked with a friend who has two Devilles(2001 & 2003) and he said this has happened to him as well. Second, the speedometer has gone to zero on occasions when the road is extremely wet. I bought a vehicle speed sensor thinking there may be a short in it but have not installed it. Third, the back window on the passenger side is held up by a carriage bolt due to the regulator failing and the panel is held on by screws. The window fell down while I was traveling and I tried a makeshift glue attempt to hold it up and it failed miserably. Thus there are glue spots on the seat. Fourth, the dash has always been an issue with peeling up and has done it again. I have glued it every time and it eventually peels right back up. The check engine light occasionally comes on but the diagnosis comes up as a misfire. Tires were installed at 137,000 miles, new alternator at 132,000($1200 hit on the wallet), the motor uses a little oil and there is a small oil leak in the engine. I have been running Supertech 5-30 synthetic oil since around 100,000 miles. Also added several quarts of Lucas Oil stabilizer since then as well. The car will still get 23 mpg driving 70mph with cruise control so it is a pretty efficient car for a V8. This would be a good car for someone who is mechanically inclined to fix the small things since hauling Cadillacs into mechanics can be an expensive outing from what I have experienced. I’ve had absolutely no problems with the transmission in this vehicle. The carpet and truck are a little dirty and there are other marks on the seats-nothing bad just from normal wear and tear with a vehicle of this age. There is glue on the dash by the glove box that was from a Sirius radio being placed on the dash that was a bad attempt to holding it on. The air conditioning worked fine last fall-have not used it since then. I have not used the back seat air conditioning for several years. **Note: The car does not have a sunroof as mentioned in the description-this was an automatic ebay description based off VIN I suppose .
