THIS IS A RELIST DUE TO HEAVY WORLDWIDE INTEREST IN THIS VEHICLE AND MANY REQUESTS FOR A BUY IT KNOW OPTION. PREVIOUS LISTING WAS LIMITED TO USA ONLY. A rare opportunity to own a museum quality Studebaker 1949 Starlight Coupe Commander with 26,900 miles. I am believed to be the 4th owner, I even have all original tires and the original spare is in the trunk with factory crayon markings on the tire! Car has new radial tires on it. I do have some documentation. Car has been painted black (base coat/clear coat) on a 100% rust free/dent free body, all glass was removed for painting and all new rubber was installed. There is zero filler in this car. Car has new interior with imported mohair fabric and rugs, original alligator interior trim and headliner still in place. This is the Commander with 249 cu in flathead 6, 3 speed with working overdrive. There is too much to list here, but the entire car has been gone through, I have owned this beauty since 1986 and have won many best of shows, people's choice, 1st place, and this list goes on. Car was in Studebaker Turning Wheels magazine (copy goes with the car). All chrome is triple chrome plated show chrome, all stainless was removed and polished. This car really belongs in a museum where it can be properly cared for, car is as close to perfection as you will ever find in a Studebaker. It also has a custom made stainless Borla exhaust. A heavily optioned car. Engine is quite, does not smoke, no known oil leaks. The heater control cable should be replaced and a new one will be included with the car. This car is for serious buyers, my cell is 908-963-4854. Car is in major publications so is subject to prior sale if reserve is not met. It does get much better than this in the Studebaker world. This would be a Saturday car at Barrett Jackson, so you are not bidding on a "driver quality" car. Showroom new is the best way to describe this car. Car drives like a new car.
