Vehicle Detail

This is a 1973 Buick Centurion Convertable with a 455 cubic in engine that is in near perfect shape. It has 52,000 miles from 1 owner. IT DOES NOT HAVE 152,000 MILES IT HAS 52,000 MILES. It has been garaged and in Colorado its whole life and only driven by an elderly couple. It was never raced or driven rough. It was basically a grocery getter vehicle. Since Colorado has such a dry climate it has next to no rust. The only rust I can see on the car is by the front drivers side wheel well. It is about the size of a nickel and has been touched up. I have looked over the whole car very close and that is the only rust I can see. The vinyl top was replaced about 4 years ago. I have the reciept for this as welI as almost all of the maintainence records and the original purchase reciept from the Buick dealer. Incredibly the air conditioning still works. It was kept up very well. The wood on the dash and the door panels are still in great condition. The emissions were tested to get new tags and it passed very easily. This car was my great uncles baby and he took very, very good care of it. It is hard to find problems with it because it is in such nice shape. But I will list the problems I noticed with it. I am a trained technician, I graduated from Colorado State University - Pueblo with a bachelors degree in Automotive Industry Management, have a couple ASE certifications and have been working as a technician for the past 6 years. I cannot predict the future but have done a meticulous inspection and here is what I came up with. The only other cosmetic problems it has are: 2 cracks on the dash (there are pictures of these), a 1in tear on the back seat (there is a picture of this), there is approx a 6in X 12in patch of carpet on the drivers side floor board (you can see this in the pictures) and the fabric that is under the convertable top when it is down has a tear and is dirty. Also, the motor for the convertable top still works well, but I would have a couple of people help make sure it opens and goes back evenly. I say this because it uses the the scissor type joints for the linkage. GM had problems with these when they were new. If it opens up uneven there is a possibility that the back heated glass window in the top will break. It has been a long time since the top has been put back so I say to do that as a precaution. The only problems that it has mechanically are: oil leaks (it apprears to be mostly from the valve cover gaskets and the transmission pan gasket), the smog pump is a little noisy and both front driver and passenger windows do not roll up or down (I believe that they both need motors because when I first looked at the car they both rolled up and down very slowly, then would stop, then after a while they would start rolling up or down again slowly. That is typical of the window motors going out). But, now they do not roll up or down. Otherwise it starts up very easy on the first try and runs very smooth. I took it up and down I25 at 80mph and had a blast. The tires are not new and have some dry rotting, but not severe enough to replace them. Also, the tires have about 5mm to 7mm of tread thickness. This car belonged to my great aunt and uncle. He was the only owner and bought it from Dale Buick in Littleton on August 24th, 1973. He took very, very good care of it. He has passed on so it is time for someone else to enjoy this car. Please email me if you would like more pictures or if you have any questions. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR CHECKING OUT MY LISTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just received information that the vehicle had been repainted its original color in 1993. The drivers seat was re-upholstered at that time as well. I have lowered my original asking price because of this. I AM SOMEWHAT FLEXIBLE ON THE PRICE SO PLEASE SUBMIT OFFERS! THANK YOU!
