Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1964 Falcon Sprint convertible in the very desirable (and rare) combo of triple black ( black body, black interior, and black convertible top). It has less than 47,000 miles on it (not documented). It is a very original and unmolested car that has the original numbers matching 260 cu. in. V-8 engine with the original valve covers and 2 barrel carb. And it has a 4 speed stick shift on the floor. It is a very solid and rust free car that is in great shape and has a very rare bench front seat option. This car was sold in Omaha, Nebraska to a schoolteacher in Red Cloud, Nebraska who sold it to a relative who then sold it in 1977 to a gentleman from the same area who stored the car for approx. 20 years. He had a Ford mechanic make it road worthy again and had it repainted and it was back on the road in 1997. Eventually he and the car wound up in Kansas, where a couple from Indiana spotted the car on one of their road trips and made the owner an offer he couldn't refuse. The car then went to it's new home in Indiana around 2003. It was sold again to a husband and wife restoration team in 2008, who cleaned it up, polishing the paint and cleaning the red clay deposits (from Red Cloud) still stuck to the frame. They also added the deep throaty sounding Silverline Dual Exhaust System and the brand new 14" Cragar mag wheels and new tires. Three months later, they put it up for auction on ebay, where I came across it, and bought it for the buy now price. Since I've owned the car, I've put a new tailpan on the car, and added a brand new top last July '10. It runs great and sounds even better. It wouldn't take much to put it back to an all stock original condition, because included with the car is the 5 original 13 inch 5 bolt wheels that belong to this car with new tires mounted on them (including the spare in the trunk). The paint is in very nice condition with only 1 very minor scratch on the left rear fender about 1 1/2 " long. There are no dents or dings in the body whatsoever. The original motor has never been tampered with (the engine compartment could use a little restoration because it was left in original condition) and while the interior has had new seat covers and carpet, it's still bone stock. The door panels were in such good shape that they were never replaced. The dash pad still looks like new as does the instrument cluster. Included is a black convertible boot in mint condition. If you are interested, for an additional price, I have a set of original 3 prong wire wheel covers that didn't come with this car, but I bought 2 excellent sets and put together 4 of the best looking wire wheel covers to put the wheels back to stock. Also, not included with the car, I have an original Sprint Tach in excellent condition that I would sell at an additional price. If you use the Buy it Now to purchase the car, these items, as well as some additional extra trim pieces, and 2 extra taillight buckets will be included. VIN and Body ID codes: Body: 76E = Sprint Convertible, 8 cyl. bench seats Color: A = Raven Black Trim: 66 = Crush Vinyl, Black Date: 03D = April 3, 1964 (Build Date) DSO: 54 = Omaha, Nebraska Axle: 4 = 3.25:1 Trans: 5 = 4 speed manual VIN: 4H14F191796 4: Year = 1964 H: Build Plant = Lorain, Ohio 14: Body Serial Code = Convertible F: Engine = 260 cu.in. Carburetor Tag: Fomoco - C4DF N - A 4BC It's getting harder to find these Sprints that are this nice without being modified with larger engines, disc brakes, etc. If you are a purist, and like your vehicles stock and untampered with, this is the car for you. The original AM Radio still works as does everything else in the car. Recently, a friend checked the car over with car magnets and couldn't find anywhere where the magnet wouldn't stick. I am available evenings, weekends, Mondays and Tuesdays all day to show the car . Please call me at 978-249-7571 to preview the car or to ask questions about the car. If you win the auction, I require a $1000 deposit within 48 hours of the auction end. If you view the car, and are unhappy with it for any reason I will refund your deposit (minus any expenses I may incur (like auction fees, etc.) Thank you for your interest in my Falcon Sprint, and good luck with your bidding.
