Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1971 Custom Built T110C - Bare Metal Triumph Bobber A one off Old School Bobber named "Bare Metal Lady" , She is bare bones . No turn signals or horn, no battery to fail on the road And if you haven't noticed no paint. Just an 32 Ford head light and 34 Ford tail/brake light only. Built on a T100C frame with matching engine serial numbers. (Clear Kansas Title in Hand!), those are the only "stock" items left from this year long build. Starting from the front end. . . A new polished 36 spoke alum spool with sealed roller bearing, custom billet axle spacers with special ordered raw Buchanan spokes with stainless steel nipples, laced to new 21" chrome Devon rim, covered in a new AVON - Venom, MH90-21. With matching rear 16" Devon rim, also covered in new Avon- Venom, MT90-16 rubber, with special raw Buchanan spokes laced to a stock steel " nickel plated" spool drum with a custom billet speedo spacer, Which was turned with new composite brake shoes fitted to match the freshly black powder coat drum, spinning on sealed roller bearings and a new axle shaft. Front forks . . . shaved, turned then polished to allow the stainless steel fork covers to fit the new forks. Along with having the progressive springs and tubes shorten 3.75" to achieve the low slung stance. (What gives it the Attitude !!) All of these modifications to the front end are held in by a welded triple tree (Didn't trust the bottom nut) and a tapered bearing and race set. The risers are welded to drag bars and machined out to allow for the internal precision roller bearing throttle and inverted clutch lever. Stock Frame. . . Was shaved of all unnecessary brackets and bits then media blasted and smoothed prior to getting a glossy black powder coated finish. Added a classic David Birds hard tail (4.0" stretch with a 2.5" drop), A custom "Antique" license plate holder fabricated to match the curve of David's hard tail and hold the 34 Ford tail light. (All electrical wiring have been routed though the frame - Try to find them !!) Custom rear fender . . . With tab mounts that seem to float in air, along with a multi-leaf spring seat perch that holds a rubber mounted Heavy gauge steel seat pan, which is adjustable for height. Gas tank is stock. . . Except the mounts have been welded and the tank chemically cleaned than media blasted pressure tested and the always faithful Kreem added for a safety measure. installed vintage dual brass petcocks. Oil tank is not. . . A raw DIY oil tank kit cut and fabricated to fit the open area behind the back bone of frame, added a British style feed filter and screen with a custom polished filler cap. Fresh Engine . . . Was dismantled down to splitting the cases where we installed all new bearings and seals, (Thanks MAP) the Crank and rods where balanced and polished, New piston and rings -Bore was tight so just needed honed to knock of the glaze. Values were good so just a re-set was done and new value springs put in. Cam was clean and true so installed new push rods and seals. The jug was powder coated and the cylinder and rocker covers where detailed, media blasted and polished, along with the rest of motor and side cases. New Technology . . . a Sparks electronic dual coil ignition system installed along with a Sparks regulator / rectifier / capacitor (Battery eliminator) The stator was pulling strong so left it alone. Had to add a new JRC (Amal replacement) 26mm carburetor, the stock Amal was not playing nice. (Some pictures in the Jockey Journal build forum show the chromed stock Amal) The Exhaust . . . Fabricated from thick wall gauged steel DYI kit (purchased more than one) to create this one of kind two into one competition race pipe. . . . It's sounds sweet (baffled)!! (Check out the video here and Jockey Journal forum) One off Designs. . . (Well hell the whole bike is a one off design !! . . You'll never see another one like it) Rear brake rod, Rear brake stay, Rear brake switch, Rear brake lever (reshaped), Kick starter lever (reshaped), Ignition key hidden in the front motor mount, head light bracket and all the miscellaneous stainless steel bolts, nuts, hex head and screws. . . . The main motive behind this design was to have a perfect raw metal build. . allowing someone else to express their own look and style. . Hence "Bare Metal Lady" Jockey Journal Thread : T100C thread Youtube Video : Video A $600 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auction's close to secure the bike and remove it from the market.
