Vehicle Detail
Hello Ebayers, Up for sale is one of my personal favorite vehicles i've had the pleasure of owning. It by far get the most looks, stares, pictures, videos, thumbs ups, whatever, of everything that I have owned.. Selling because I no longer have time to take advantage of it. Nothing wrong with the truck, no dash lights on, ac/heat blows cold front/rear, etc... Q: Wow, thats a huge *****, what kind of gas mileage does it get? A: Because it is a diesel, it gets better gas mileage than if it were a gas v8 or v10. City, if it is flat, then roughly 10.5-14mpg. Highway, if its flat, around 15mpg. If it is very "hilly", the torque converter will kick down to 3rd which will increase gas consumption. I am very careful watching my egts as well, the truck has never seen higher than 1200* Q: It looks like it is extremely hard to drive, is it? A: While I definitely would not let my grandmother drive it, it is not that much more of a chore than any other large suv. The tires being so wide will track with the ruts in the road causing the truck to pull either way. It isnt anything hard to do, but is definitely a change from driving, say, a Cadillac. Installing the cross over steering kit that is included will fix most of this...Parking would be the same as any suv, always make sure you have ample room around the truck. If not, or if blocked in, make your own path =) Making sure you are aware of your surroundings is a pretty big deal as well. If lets say, a small car such as Civic or something of the like pulls up to your right side at a light, there's a pretty good chance you wont see his roof. So there is a possibility of running over people in that regard. Q: Is the truck legal? A: Yes, the truck is legal and has just had its annual Texas inspection. The one thing that would be in question is your local laws on headlight height. In Texas, the headlights can be no more than 54inches high, which without the drop headlights, this particular truck would be in violation. Q: How tall is the truck and can I still get through drive thru's? A: Most drive thru's in my area are no higher than 9foot. If you happen to see anything less, I would be leary. The truck sits rougly 8foot 9inches, so the roof mounted luggage rack may drag if there is any bumps in the lane. My personal advice, find a Lubys, its healthier anyway...You sit about eye level or just a hair taller than most double bunk 18 wheelers Q: Can you tow with it? A: I have never towed anything more than my motorcycle with an open U-haul type trailer. I would probably put smaller tires on it if you were to tow regularly. Q: Is it fast? What is your top speed? A: By its own regard, it is somewhat quick when you go WOT. Yes it dumps black smoke on the extreme setting as well. Top speed is limited to around 70mph with these tires. In 4th gear locked, you are turning around 1900rpm if it is flat, around 65ish mph. If you go uphill, it will obviously drop to 3rd, youre egts will lower, but you are consuming more gas. I say 70mph because at 70mph, you are turning roughly 10-1100* egts. You would want A) a larger turbo or B) smaller tires if you wanted to go faster. Keep in mind, the faster you go, the more you have brake... Q: Would you suggest this as my only vehicle? A: If this was, I would say no. Obviously, there are alot of differences between this and your typical F150/F250/Dodge15/25/3500, etc etc. If you have read this far, you can probably figure out that it wasnt my only vehicle, that I took care of it, and that it hasnt been abused. It has never been offroad and isnt built to do so. This truck was made with more of a car show mentality, with function following form. If you are looking for something that gets a ton of attention, I can honestly tell you that you would have to spend 6 figures to get more... In closing, I am aware that there are a TON of superduty trucks and ex's online for sale. Unfortunately, I don't believe that you will find this level of aftermarket parts on a truck with the same final product. Mileage is low for its model, truck looks good, and its got everything that most would think about doing to a truck.
