Up for auction is my 1991 BMW E34 M5 3.6 ltr.5 speed sedan. If you are looking to buy an E34 M5 sedan, look no further. If you want the last hand built M5 model, this is it, this is as solid a car as it gets. I have a thick 3-ring binder that contains the complete maintenance and service history from new!!! All the issues on this car have been addressed, needs nothing and will need nothing in the short term. In other words, no expense was spared when I was getting this car to the perfect running condition I wanted it to be in, so that I can have a reliable commuter for work. I purchased this vehicle in May 2010 as it was going to be my daily driver. During the course of last year, I carried out all the necessary repairs and maintenance the car needed so that I could use it . The car as it stands now is in excellent running condition and absolutely needs nothing, just gas and go. The reason I'm selling this vehicle is that I just purchased a 1993 BMW M5 Touring that I will be using as a daily driver and I do not need the sedan anymore. The car currently has 193,700 miles, last oil and filter change was done at 190,000. The next oil and filter change is due at 195,000 miles. Exterior Condition: Overall exterior condition of the car is a 7 out of 10. This is an accident-free car. The Alpine White paint itself is in very good condition and shines very well when detailed and waxed. However, I'm giving the exterior a grade of 7 due to the dings and dents it has over the life of the car. It is 20 yrs old and for that age, the paint and clear coat is very nice, but it has a few dings and paint scratches. I took the pictures at about 5 feet away from the car, so if you don't see the dings, dents and scratches, they are pretty minor. I say minor because at 5 feet away, they are hardly noticeable. There is no rust whatsoever on the car. All the glass are in very good condition with no cracks. There is some pitting of the front windshield from 20 yrs. of driving. ALL BODY PANELS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE MATCHING VIN NUMBERS. ALL 4 DOORS, HOOD AND TRUNK HAVE THE SAME MATCHING VIN NUMBERS AS THE CHASSIS. Interior Condition: Overall interior condition of the car is a 8 out of 10. The interior is a 2 tone grey, dark grey on the dash and top of the door panels and the anything below that is a lighter grey leather, almost lotus white. The dashboard is in excellent condition with no cracks or warpage. Door panels are also in good condition with no tears, holes or scratches - just your typical skid marks from the soles of shoes during entry and exit of the car - easily removed with goo gone or simple green. The leather seats are in good condition, shows the age from the leather creases but overall the leather is intact, with no holes, tears or stains. The front seats work perfectly in every motion, and seat heaters are awesome especially during the cold morning commute. The headliner is a little saggy in the back, very typical for its age, but it doesn't look bad at all. There is some bunching up of the headliner material at one corner of the sunroof but it is very minimal and does not interfere with the movement of the sunroof. Electronics: Radio works perfect along with the 6-disc CD changer (I have the radio code) All dashboard lights work perfectly except for the temperature dials on the dual-zone climate control panel A/C works perfect and blows cold Heater works perfect - brand new heater core just replaced 2 days ago - I have receipt for the 12 month warranty All window controls work All sunroof movement and switch work All headlights, taillights and signal lights work All license plate lights work All interior dome lights work All fog lights work Complete A/C system was just checked for vacuum leaks, it passed completely with no leaks. A/C system has been converted from R12 to R134a, and fully charged with freon (3 lbs.) A/C system blows ridiculously cold at 1 and 2 fan speeds. At 3 and 4 fan speeds, you'll need a beanie, gloves and a parka!!! I have receipt for this work. All vacuum lines are brand new. Transmission: Brand new OEM transmission mounts Flushed the manual transmission again with Redline Manual Transmission lubricant 75W-90 (2 quarts). I did this flush when I first purchased the car, but at first flush, you don't remove 100% of the oil fluid, maybe 20% stays behind, so I let 80% of new Redline MTL mix in for a year and flush it again with same synthetic fluid. Now the tranny has 99% of old fluid replaced. I have receipt for this work. That means registration is paid for the next year already. So the new buyer will only pay transfer of ownership and sales tax fees (CA only). I'm not sure if other states have the same rules/laws. Alignment is perfect. Does not pull at all to any side at all. You can also check the wear on the tires, the wear is perfectly even, also another sign that alignment is good and neutral and tires are balanced. Since the complete front end suspension was redone, there is no play whatsoever in the steering wheel. There is no dead spot at all. Steering control and feedback is instant and precise. With all the maintenance and upgrades that I've done on this car, it pretty much feels like a brand new car. You will not be disappointed with this M5.
