Vehicle Detail
1968 Mustang Fastback 2+2 302 GT This is the first car I have tried to sell on Ebay so please be patient. I have bought several cars and got burned so I will be as honest and up front as possible. I have owned this car for about 10 years and have gone over every panel and replaced where necessary. I own a collision repair store and use cars like this as fill work to keep by techs busy during slow times. I bought this car as a "rust-free" car from North Carolina. When it arrived it looked good but needed paint. When we started sanding guess what ... Bond-city! So we ended up replacing both quarters, trunk floors, drops, rear body panel, hood, trunk and front and rear valances. The floors had been replaced prior. Not a great job but functional and water-tight. The paint is the original Presidential Blue basecoat-clearcoat (Sikkens). Some of the badging and the side lights has been left off to give the car a cleaner look. The motor runs good but it's no race car. The car has power disk brakes in front and a new power booster/master. All pads are new (less than 1000 miles). I added an HEI ignition and a new Holley 4-barrel carb. Just touch the key and it starts every time. The car also has power steering and a new slave cylinder. The rest of the engine is a stock 302 (as far as I know). This is a good car at a good value. Drives good and looks even better! There is no reserve so if you place a bid for the opening amount, you may steal this car. I will attempt to answer any other questions I can but I am NO MUSTANG GURU!!! Good luck! On Mar-03-11 at 08:31:19 PST, seller added the following information: Added requested pictures, also the car was originally a 289 not 302 but the "gentleman" I bought it from said it was a 302 and not original to car but from a '68 mustang ... who knows? Please do not ask to end aution early or add "buy it now". This is my first action and I want to see how it goes. If it doesn't sell we will relist it and an early end option. Also PLEASE be serious about purchasing this car if you bid on it!!! Also, there is no radio or bezel, the carpet, seat foam and upholstry are all new, the exhaust is old and needs replacing and I have a set of coated "shorty" headers that fit this car that I may part with. I can also get the exhaust re-done pretty cheap if you're interested. The car sits inside under a car cover in my shop. This is a dusty business and I did not even attempt to detail the car out to make it look better. I just blew off the dust and rinsed the exterior before I snapped the pictures!
