DESCRIPTION:

Our 1998 Audi A6 2.8L Quattro Wagon will make some fortunate winning bidder and great daily driver vehicle. Audi is renowned for their safe, highly-capable automobiles and this A6 is no exception. Combine the utility of a wagon including 3rd row seating with the agility of Audi's Quattro AWD and you have a do-anything, go-anywhere vehicle. It may not be perfect, but this Audi has a lot going for it and needs only minor maintenance to be just right.

Outside, the deep charcoal/black paint looks good all over except for the following areas: The front bumper has multiple tiny paint chips in it, the hood has multiple tiny paint chips and one dime-sized chip with a ding in it, as well as, multiple scratches on top. The right headlight has a hole in the glass lense (a State Inspection item), the left fender has a couple tiny scratches, the left front door has multiple tiny/light scratches, the left rear door has a couple tiny/light scratches, the left 1/4 panel has a piece of trim missing by the rear door, the rear hatch is missing the inserts that the license plate screws go into, the right rear door has a small dent in it, the right front door has tiny scratches and the right fender has a couple tiny paint chips. The alloy wheels have minor curb scrapes on the outer lips and the two front tires need replacing (Inspection item). Lastly, the windshield has a small half-moon crack in it, but it will pass State inspection. On the positive side, the left headlight, left 1/4 panel, rear bumper, right 1/4 panel, roof, mirrors, and the rest of the side and rear glass look great! Even the noted paint blemishes are minor and could be repaired with some touch-up paint and a little paintless dent repair.

Inside, our Audi looks nice all over except for a large rip and hole in the driver's seat bottom cushion (see pic below). That's the only really bad blemish inside. The rest of the interior blemishes are minor and most are easily repaired with some good detailing and/or dye work. The carpet has some stains and some gum stuck in it, the overhead console that houses the power sunroof switch has some broken clips so it will not stay in place and falls down a little, the headliner has a couple pen marks, the right rear door panel fabric has a stain, the seat leather could use some reconditioning and dye work in spots, and there is a crack in the wood trim on the passenger side of the dash. That's it. The Audi/BOSE audio system sounds great, the seats are firm and comfortable, the car rides solidly with a quiet interior, the suspension handles great, all the electronic options seem to work properly including the climate control, sunroof, audio system, heated seats, power seats, and more! The only electronic issues inside are faulty light bulbs. There is a light out in the instrument cluster and the overhead lights up front are out.

Mechanically, our Audi is in very good condition overall, but it is due for some maintenance and some items will have to be repaired or replaced in order for this car to pass State Inspection. First, I will list the State Inspection items: The right headlight lense has a hole in it and will need to be replaced, the two front tires are bad and need to be replaced, the front and rear wiper blades are bad and need to be replaced, and the brakes lines are badly cracked and need to be replaced. Thats all the State Inspection items. Additional mechanical issues are: the right front output shaft seal is leaking, the center front output seal is leaking, the right rear output shaft seal is leaking, the valve cover gaskets are leaking, and the power steering resevoir line is leaking. Most of the leaking components are minor leaks or simply fluid sepage that doesn't need to be repaired anytime soon. Other than the items listed, this Audi is in very good condition mechanically.

So, there you have it. This is a nice 1998 Audi A6 Wagon with a peppy 2.8L, V6 engine and loads of luxury features that just needs a little TLC.
