Vehicle Detail

Up for auction today is my 1953 Ford F-100. Original steel body truck that has been in california most, if not all of its life. Truck modifications include 4.6 DOHC 32 valve all aluminum heads and Teksid block Ford Modular motor form a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII that I purchased with 70,000 some odd miles. 4R70-W electronic auto trans with overdrive and 2500 stall convertor. Aluminum radiator with factory cobra electric fan. The truck uses the factory Lincoln OBD-2 computer reprogrammed with sniper tuning software. Ford motorsports shorty headers with BBK catless x-pipe. Stainless steel flowmaster mufflers for a wicked ferrari-like sound. Cobra aluminum intake with bbk cold air induction. Walbro 255 inline fuel pump with return style fuel system. BBK fuel pressure regulator with gauge. Dependable and runs awesome. Telorvek aftermarket wiring harness and computer behind the seat with OBD-2 diagnostics plug under the dash. Truck was built originally in the late 70s, to early 80s with a 70 Monte Carlo front subframe with power steering and disc brakes. The rear end is a shortened Ford 9" detroit locker with 411 gears, disc brakes ladder bars and coil overs. Truck sits low. Wheels are weld wheels 3 1/2" up front and 18" in the rear. Front tires are new, the rears are still over 50 percent. So this 53 runs, handles and stops like much newer car. Power steering, four wheel disc brakes w/parking brake, Truck appears never to have had any bodywork done to it, as it was painted with a primer/paint mix over 20 years ago. Truck floors are solid. Truck appears to be rust free and very solid as it has been parked inside the 20 years I've known it. I would replace the front fenders if I was going to put a fancy paint job on it. It runs as good as it looks, Launches straight and runs hard. I drove it over 70 miles to Fontana raceway and it ran back to back 13.80's, however I lifted because I ran out of gear. Interior is nice black carpet with a power windows and Vintage Stewart Warner gauges and a new bench seat. All lights, wipers, gauges, turn signals work as they should. 3 Seat belts are provided as well as tilt steering column. Please call with any questions or to come see and drive this truck. Rich King 818-523-1771. It is located in Reseda, California. Shipping is the financial responsibility of the buyer, but I will assist in any way I can to get the vehicle to your shipper. Check my feedback as I have sold many cars and motorcycles and shipped all over the world. If you would like to bid, pay and drive home in this truck but need a week or two to plan the trip, please give me a call and I would be glad to pick you up from the airport and keep the truck for you locked safely in the garage. But please arrange it with me first. NOTE, nonrefundable deposit of $500 due within 24 hours of auction end and balance due within one week of that. I don't mind storing the truck inside till you pick it up, but I have no intentions of having someone drag out the payment for weeks. Thanks! The build was documented on modular fords dot com. Below are the five links in order so you can see what I did to build the truck. You won't find a better deal on a Vintage Hot Rod anywhere. This truck was built to keep. This truck was built to be dependable. I have taken this truck on a 400+ mile round trip to Northern California, It didn't get over 170 degrees and got excellent gas mileage. I would drive this truck anywhere. Just gotta watch the potholes with the 3 1/2" cookie cutters on the front. http://www.modularfords.com/forums/showthread.php/100112-pics-of-my-53-F100-to-mark-8-4.6-DOHC-swap?highlight=53+f100 http://www.modularfords.com/forums/showthread.php/100878-pics-on-53-F100-progress?highlight=53+f100 http://www.modularfords.com/forums/showthread.php/102551-F100-4.6-motor-is-in?highlight=53+f100 http://www.modularfords.com/forums/showthread.php/109763-4.6-DOHC-53-F100-runs-awesome-(pics)?highlight=53+f100 http://www.modularfords.com/forums/showthread.php/167033-53-F100-4.6-DOHC-4r70w-ran-13.80-95?highlight=53+f100 Things I would do if I were gonna keep it. Replace or rebuild the rear coil over shocks. They leak a little. Install those hoosier drag radials all the way around, the mickey thompsons in the rear are not radials and only hold 20 lbs of air so they leak down when parked for weeks. Find someone that can match the 25+ year old primer/paint and spray the tailgate, I bought a 52 tailgate because I like the script better than the block letters of the 53 tailgate. Figured I better elaborate. Got a couple of calls on the mileage. This truck was built as a hot rod (lowered, monte carlo front end, originally a 289/c4, and gauges) and the 16,xxx miles is what the gauges reflects since its transformation in the late 70s to early 80s. In the last couple of years I have put aproximately 2 to 3 thousand miles since the motor swap to 4.6 DOHC/4R70W. I have not had to turn a wrench since. I have gone thru a couple of times and checked tightness of bolts and found no issues or leaks. I've been getting a lot of calls questions about the front end swap. The early 70s chevy monte carlo front subframe was professionally installed, engineered, gusseted, and welded. Truck goes straight as an arrow. I have pictures of the undercarriage if there is something you would like to see. Thanks for lloking, Rich King
