Up for bids is a 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Normale; with the vin dating it near the very end of the production run for 1957. It was sold new to a man in TX where it resided until 1966 when the owner's son took it to college in NE. Soon after its arrival in NE, the student was unhappy about its winter driving ability and took it off the road after a minor hit to the front right of the car and sold the car to the man I bought it from who stored it inside his private airplane hanger, never repairing it, but sympethetically storing since 1967--making for two registered owners ever logging only 56,502 miles. This is a very complete car with all of its original running gear intact; down to the 5 rims, screw down dist. cap/wires, exhaust, fuel pump, and even coil. It ran and drove when parked; the engine was oiled and turns over by hand with what feels ot be good compression. There is very minimal rust with the worst spot being on the right rear rocker from a jack incident that looks to be mostly at fault for the subsequent corrosion and a couple of small holes in the floor boards. I have many more pics available from top to bottom. The car did suffer a complete repaint in red from white at some point in the early '60s; the paint is chalky now with some white starting to show through. The only parts missing are the windshield, eyebrow trim, side trim spears, right headlight trim ring, and the license plate light lens. All in all, this should be a fun and easy project on a car with huge upside potential. A #2 '56 sold at the 2010 Gooding's Pebble Beach auction for $74,250.
