Restored VW 71 Karmann convertible. Have owned it for nearly 2 years. Bought it as a 50th wedding anniversary gift for my wife. It was inspected and licensed for daily use, not historic, in Aug. of 2009. I am selling because it is not safe for me to drive due to the size of my orthopedic shoes not fitting in the small space. She does not drive a manual shift. It was restored by last owner for his daughter, not driven in winter and is in good shape. He told me the previous owner had overhauled the engine. My mechanic inspected it and found no rust, no dents, bumpers look to be new. It has a new top. Windows have no cracks and all function. It has an after market radio/cassette player, radio works, player does not. Everything else works. Heat tubes show no rust, but are shut off to make cooler in summer, since the girl did not drive it in the winter.I have driven the car in 3 parades and one short trip of 25 miles to dinner last summer. Runs and drives great, does not smoke. Tires as very good, 2 are new. Color is Bahia Red I believe. The car was just uncovered today to take the pictures, without dusting, and it was sweating due to 70 degree temps today after days of below zero. The car is clean in the pictures with the top up in Aug of 2009 when I got it home.
