This truck is a nice local trade in. READY for work or play.
EBAY DECODED THIS TRUCK AS A 172 inch, but as you can see in the pics, it's is NOT an 8 FOOT Bed truck.
I had the oportunity to drive it home this weekend and here is my assessment of this truck.
POWERTRAIN
The 7.3 Liter Powerstroke engine is in perfect running order.
The transmission pulls and shifts as it should.
The tires are in A+ condition.
The truck does not pull to the left or right.
No tire shake at ANY speed up to 80mph.
No suspension noise going over bumps.
There is a 5th wheel hitch already installed and a trailer brake controller.
INTERIOR
The interior is in A+ condition for the age and miles. If this was a one year old truck with 30,000 miles on it I would still rate the interior an 8 out of 10. the carpets are virtually free of rips and stains, some general wear and tear from 10 years of use but no defects stand out from afar or close up.
The only flaw is the side of the drivers seat (pictured) where it's a bit worm from getting in and out, but is not ripped or torn, just a bit a wear.
All lights and buttons work as they should.
This truck has power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise, manual lumbar support on drivers seat and a very nice Pioneer stereo that was obviously professionally installed in good working order and cleanly installed (looks like it belongs there)
The door ajar indicator stayed on half the times I got in the truck but not the other half, so I'm sure it's just a sticky switch or something. (The interior light on this truck will NOT stay lit all night and run down the battery, even when this condition is present (designed that way)
PAINT
Here is the only issue with this truck and why it will sell for around $13,000 and not $16,000.
The entire truck has a number of scratches, on almost every body panel. I would consider these surface scratches and medium scratches.
Over the entire truck there are a handful of dings that you would consider to be like "door dings"
There is a small dent on one side of the bed (outside), very close to the top rail (think like a baseball hit it at 30mph) as opposed to a sledgehammer or another vehcile.
Other than the scratches, dings and dent the paint is NOT faded and the whole truck is NOT all scratched up making it look dull or junky. The scratches are all individual to themselves and not like someone ran around the truck with sandpaper.
So basically the truck LOOKS it's age (but paint is still shiny) and LOOKS like someone used it as it should have been used, for it's 7.3 Diesel engine.
It's not a garage queen, it's a man's truck.
After driving it this weekend and fighting my wife off from telling me to buy this truck for myself, I can tell you I would trust this truck to go anywhere, pull anything and last another 300,000 miles like it's supposed to.
