Vehicle Detail
Hello, this ’45 Chevy PU is a frame-off restoration completed about 7 years ago. No rust. It’s been kept in the garage ever since. I’ve put on maybe 5,000 miles on it (at most) since restoration. Actual mileage on truck is unknown. The 216 motor runs great, the tires are excellent. The paint is 2 stage (base coat/clear coat). The windshield opens up very well. Both windshield wiper motors have been rebuilt. The truck is mostly stock with a few upgrades: new 12 volt electrical system with a Chevy alternator. Has working turn signals. All bulbs are replaced with 12 volt bulbs. Has an HEI electronic ignition distributor from “Stovebolt Engine Company”. Open driveline, the rear end is from a ’55 Chevy ½ ton pickup (it's now a 3.90:1 ratio, the original was a 4.11:1) . T-5 overdrive 5-speed transmission from a ’85 Chevy S-10 (there’s an adapter plate between the original bell housing and the 5-speed transmission). Truck will do highway speeds. The bed boards are solid oak, stained and has Minwax polyurethane finish. The tail gate, tail gate chains and steel bed strips are new from Mar-K Classic Truck Parts. The bed is assembled with stainless steel hardware. Also, there’s a AM/FM cd player hidden in the glove box. Hidden speakers under the dashboard. I have spent lot’s of money on chrome and the grill is original steel (it ain’t no aftermarket) Also it comes with numerous trophies that I’ve won at various car shows. Has a clear title with proper serial number on ID tag and pink slip. Here is my disclosure statement: on the back of cab at the belt line the paint has some bubbles in the paint (see photo). The windshield leaks at the lower right corner (I don’t drive it in the rain, so I didn’t bother with it). The speedometer and odometer works but is not accurate. All gauges work but the temperature gauge reads hotter than it really is. Brakes need adjustment. The driver side window does not roll down very well. The frame of the passenger side window is scratched on the inside (see photo). No key for the glove box or passenger door. The steering wheel came from a '39 chevy car (I think). The horn button is an aftermarket on the steering column. The 12 volt battery probably needs replacing. The motor runs real nice but it does leak a little oil. The "Chevrolet" on the tailgate is a decal, it's not an embossed emblem like on the earlier Chevy Pickups. There are some other minor quirks but I didn’t list them all ‘cause it is an old truck. Anyways, everytime I drive it I get plenty of thumbs ups. And you gotta admit, it looks great!
