Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Far more good than bad. Here is as accurate a description as I can give. The only things that I know are missing are the original radio, air cleaner, and lower rocker trim. So as you can see you will not be hunting parts. Mileage is unknown, but what is shown on title. Good: Older restoration started to certain areas of the car, then it sat awhile, I finished a few things to make her a nice driver. MECHANICAL: The Engine had a complete rebuild and has less than 500 miles on it. I had a complete tune-up done 2 weeks ago and it starts right up and runs wonderfully. The brand new aluminum radiator is less than a month old. It has a brand new exhaust. Sitting on 4 new tires. New hoses and belts. New gas tank. Brakes were completely redone a couple of years ago, new master cylinder, hoses, wheel cylinders and shoes. New wipers. INTERIOR: a few years back was completely gone through other than headliner. Not a tear in the seats, carpet. Headliner is OK but has two holes above driver visor and a crack in the middle(see photo). Previous owner had 3 floor pans replaced. Frame and supports are all solid. New rubber on doors, trunk. Window lace was replaced too. Speedometer has never worked, but gas, generator, etc all seem to work. EXTERIOR: The stainless actually looks pretty damn nice. Glass is all there. Bad: This is not a show car. Pictures seem to actually make it better than we think it is. It is a very nice driver. Things that drive me nuts are.... Paint looks good from 20ft. Whoever painted the car went through all the trouble of taking it down to bare metal and then doing terrible prep work. There are areas of the car that has small blisters where the paint is not holding right. Interior is some sort of orange-red color that my wife and I don't care for much. Bumpers are solid but need rechroming. Some light lense are fogging and need replaced. Windshield is OK but has fogging around bottom edges and scratches rest of the glass is great. If you live nearby please feel free to come kick the tires. Clean title, come take it away.
