Vehicle Detail
I bought this Porsche in 1991. I drove it and fixed it over the years and enjoyed both. I don't drive it so much anymore. The car is in good shape for its age. It has a rebuilt 1.8 motor in it with dual carbs and less than 1500 miles on it. Professional rebuild by Foreign Car Werks in Bound Brook, N.J. Runs well. Has a new muffler. Had it painted silver about five years ago, still looks good, with a few spots that could use some attention. Nothing major. Has new tires, new brakes and new master cylinder. Interior has all new carpet and the seats redone about two years ago. Had new rear floor pans welded in years ago and they are still good as are the front. Had new metal welded in at the suspension console at the same time, where these cars are prone to rust because of the battery location. I bought a replacement piece from Auto Atlanta that can be welded in should it ever rust there again (for three hundred dollars) but don't feel its necessary at this time. Will be included with the car. There was a small amount of rust in the bottom of the door sills which I filled in, sanded and painted. No rust to deal with at this time. Always kept the car in the garage. The targa top is in good shape and has new rubber on it. All the lights work. The left side headlight doesn't go up and down. I pulled the motor and had it tested. It's good, but the relay is bad and I haven't had a chance to replace it. The transmission is fine unless you try to put it into first while the car is still going. It will grind. The trannys in these cars are very vague, takes a while to get used to... I do drive the car at least once a week -- weather permitting. The heat works fine, no exhaust smells. Its a fun car to drive, especially with the top off. Any questions feel free to email me.
