SUPER RARE PONTIAC BANSHEE FORMULA -Sunset Pontiac-GMC in Clearwater, Fl was the place to purchase one in 1994, 1995 and 1996 in order for you to get this rare bird. This car is #17 of 17 made for the first year of production-Last of the First! These 'Birds were limited to a total of 39-that's right 39 for a THREE year run. Compare that to the much more common 500 Pontiac Firehawks just for the 1994 model year alone. In fact, if you take the total production of 1994 Formula coupes- 9,225 (of the 25,683 Firebird coupes produced for that year), the esteemed Firehawk made up 5.42% of that number. Now compare that to the 17 Banshee Editions which accounted for less than 2/10ths of 1 percent production and let that sink in. This limited edition, dealer modified Formula is unique and different, and in that respect follows in the footsteps of yesteryear legends such as Royal Pontiac's Bobcat or Yenko Chevrolet's Corvairs, Novas and (yes) Camaros. This is the 3rd addition to this section. Apparently the Sunset Pontiac Dealership in Clearwater Florida took factory Formulas and converted them into a Banshee look-a-like that included visual and performance changes. The car is mostly original, requiring restoration, body, paint and engine work. The requisite woofer/tweeter/amp mess has been removed and sold, while the "racing" springs remain.
