MeetLillian1976 Ford ThunderbirdVery clean, SUPER low mile, all original with an great history! In July, 1976, a woman named Lillian and her Husband went to purchase a brand new Ford. Their salesman for the day was a man named Mr. Hastings, Lillian was very specific in her wants so they special ordered her a 1976 Thunderbird, Lipstick Red with all the bells and whistles offered. Many years passed until Lillian was ready to give up her car for a newer model, but when she was ready she returned to the same man at the same dealership to trade her in. Mr. Hastings was happy to oblige her request of course, but there was one thing, the car was as beautiful as the day he sold it to her and she had only put 37,000 miles on it. Mr. Hastings being a car collector himself decided to purchase the vehicle himself, this was in June of 1994. To keep the car in original shape, he placed the vehicle in a indoor storage facility along with the rest of his finds. In 2007, we came to meet Mr.Hastings, he saw my Brother driving a classic Ford and was very interested in telling him all about his collection he had made for himself over the years. During the next few years, he would sell us a few cars at a time, always wanting them to go to a good home. In August, 2008, he sold us Lillian and her story. All of his cars had an interesting history but this one was different, he had known the car since the beginning. We own a business in Oklahoma City, the car was parked in front of our business when a car full of older ladies and gentleman pulled in and started admiring the car. When my Brother asked them if there was anything that they wanted to know about her, one of the ladies replied, "No Son, I am Lillian, I know all about her." The original "Lillian" plate still remains on the front bumper and she will forever be Lillian!
