Vehicle Detail

1946 Ford Burma Jeep....The Burma Jeeps were powered by a Ford 6-cylinder flathead gasoline engine producing 90 horsepower. They were 1-½ ton capacity, 4-wheel drive with a 4-speed transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Military Vehicle referred to as "Passenger Carrier". Has a shallow open bed which would carry personnel. Looks like it can be used as a Pick Up as well. Body paint is very faded. Interior is as well and pretty beaten up. Mileage is a guess. I am trying to retrieve the actual miles. Clear title. Vehicle is considered operable, nothing has been removed but it has not been started in over 10 years. Owner has had clear title since 1948... BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. Please feel free to ask any questions, and I will answer to the best of my ability. Clearly this is very old and has been stored for a long time. Thank You and Good Luck! On Feb-06-11 at 16:33:44 PST, seller added the following information: Regarding the "Data Plates"....as far as I can tell there are none. They were originally located on the engine cover which was stolen about 20 years ago (replaced with a custom stainless cover, visible in photos). Also the tires are cracked and peeling in some places, since they have been sitting deflated. At least three from what I can see (I can not get to the passenger side and back of vehicle). On Feb-09-11 at 12:38:09 PST, seller added the following information: 11 Additional Pictures were posted today. I will not be posting any more (only one day left). Hopefully more questions can be answered from these. The one showing how it is stored (parked) will be good reference for shipping. I have been asked if it needs to be lifted / hoisted onto a flat bed tow truck and it does...so picture could aid in getting shipping / tow estimate. Others show close up of dash, gauges, floor and seats. The rest are of under carriage; axles, wiring etc... Other questions have been about spare parts and manuals. Unfortunately there are none...No Manuals or Spare Parts. I did locate a website that sells reprinted manuals, email me for that information. Please do feel free to ask any other questions. And I will try to get answers before auction ends. Thank You for All Your Interest and Questions, I am happy these cars will go to someone who will really appreciate owning them! On Feb-09-11 at 20:20:32 PST, seller added the following information: Someone looked at THE GTB today and advised me of the following: THE ENGINE IS NOT ORIGINAL.... IT IS A FORD TRUCK ENGINE FROM AROUND THE 50'S...REFER TO PICTURE ADDED. THE BATTERY BOX LOCATED UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT HAS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF RUST. ALSO HOOD IS RUSTED THROUGH AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD / PICTURE ADDED. AND THE TOOL BOX THAT NORMALLY CAME WITH THIS VEHICLE (UNDER REAR BUMPER) IS MISSING. CURRENT HIGH BIDDER AND ANY BIDDERS PRIOR TO THIS POSTING / UPDATE WILL NOT BE OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE VEHICLE... ANYONE BIDDING AFTER THIS POST IS CONSIDERED INFORMED OF REVISIONS AND OBLIGATED TO HONOR THEIR HIGH BID. THANKS FOR THE FRIENDLY INFORMATION AND PICTURES!!!
