Up for auction is a 1968 Pontiac GTO!! Its the real thing – this is a "242" VIN GTO, not a "clone" or "tribute"!! As this vehicle had been treated to an amateur "restoration", it does need some TLC to become a nice driver. It runs and drives well, starts easily and stops straight. The GTO is equipped with a non-original Pontiac 455 cid V8 and a 4 speed transmission. The Parchment (code 224) interior is in average condition. The Verdoro green (code Q) paint has been hastily applied over a poorly prepared body by an inexperienced painter. All of the body panels appear to be original. The frame and floorpans appear to be original and in average condition. The stated mileage is 101k (actual). A/C box is intact. Quarters: Normal GM rust. Have been mudded. Inner quarters are in good shape. Fenders: Normal GM rust. Lower fenders were mudded. Rockers: SolidTrunk Lid: SolidDoors: Solid. Filler at bottom (still retains factory seams).Hood: Good condition with silicone sealer around tach base. No rot / minor dings.Floorpans & Frame: Floorpans and frame appear original. Frame is excellent. Front floorpans have some holes and will need replaced or patched. Rear pans are solid. Trunk pan is solid and has had minor patch work done. Bumpers & Trim: Front bumper is misaligned while the rear bumper and mirror are new. Grill is in average condition. Door handles, window trim and emblems are fair to poor. New door handles are included. All lenses are intact. Paint: Single stage (Verdoro green) hastily applied over a poorly prepared surface. InteriorMisc. Seats: Parchment (code 224) vinyl buckets in good condition. Drivers’ seat back needs minor repairs. (See pics) Carpet: Good condition Headliner & Sail panels: Poor – needs replacement. New headliner and sail panel materials are included. Dash & Instruments: Good condition. Aftermarket radio. All instruments, lights, brake lights and turn signals are intact and functioning properly.
