This is a 1960 MGA. The owner, my friend, recently passed away and I am helping his widow dispose of his vehicles. Serial number on cowl data plate: GHNL70073. Engine serial number 16GA / U / 1293 Mileage: Unknown (8086 miles showing) He restored this car himself. I would characterize it as a "good/ amateur" restoration, done over the last four or five years. The car was painted before he got it, probably 10 or 12 years ago. It shines well with no cracking. There is a dent on the rear deck lid (from pushing the car) where the luggage rack would attach. Luggage rack is included but not installed (and is somewhat rusty). The exterior color is green (not quite as dark as a British racing green), probably enamel (definitely not base coat/clear coat). It's a nice driver condition - suitable for cruises, shows and parades but you wouldn't have to be concerned about the kids climbing on it. Interior presents itself very nicely; the seat coverings are show worthy and period correct looking. The folding top works manually, but the linkage needs some work on one side. The car also includes another top boot, which also houses the side window glass. Based on the numbers the powertrain is the 1600cc four cylinder with a manual trans. A new radiator was installed last fall. The tires on the car are 165SR15 Michelins on chrome wire spoke wheels, and appear relatively new. There are two spare tire/wheel assemblies, which are an off brand tire and are mounted on (I believe) argent painted wire spokes. It has been pretty cold here so I did not try pulling the car out to clean it up or did not try to start it. Once it warms up a bit I'll put a little charge in the 6V batteries and try to fire it up. The car ran when parked, Jon and his wife did a couple road trips last year, each not without their share of adventure (!). All the usual disclaimers apply (this is a used vehicle, don't bid unless you can pay, etc). The car also includes a hardcover Service Manual. Title is clear and in his wife's name.
