Vehicle Detail

Thanks everyone for your patience... let's try this again! 1974 was the last year of the VW Karmann Ghia. Cabriolet convertibles are rare with only about 1500 being produced in 1974. This one has a freshly rebuilt 1776cc powerhouse by Buggy House Motor Sports in Hayward CA, with approximately 1500 miles on it. Runs like a champ! Dual Kadron 44 Carbs, Bosch 009 distributor, Mesa 72-plate Performance Oil Cooler with external screw-on Fram filter. Recent brakes, disc in front, drum out back. Goes AND stops! All receipts for the engine work will be included as well a bunch of other maintenance records. This vehicle also has a well-hidden and powerful dual amplifier CD/MP3 stereo system with separate Alpine 6" mids and 2" tweeters in the custom kick panel mounts, two 6" Infinity two-way speakers in the back and a 10" JL-Audio sub-woofer receiving dedicated power from a JL-Audio 500/1 amp. A separate Eclipse EA3422 amp pumping 105 watts into each of four channels (420 watts total) runs the mids and highs. An older Blaupunkt in-dash cassette deck deters would-be thieves while the REAL headunit (Eclipse CD3434) hides, and is securely mounted in, the glovebox. An under-dash Alpine 7-band EQ allows you to tweak the sound to your liking. You will also receive the manuals for each amplifier as well as the Eclipse CD/MP3 headunit. ISSUES: This Ghia has a single dime-sized paint chip in the edge of the passenger door. It could probably be covered with a door-edge molding. The convertible top has the original glass window, not one of these cheap vinyl or polycarbonate replacements. The driver's side floor pan has a very slight crack in the rear part of the pan (well behind the seat), and the passenger's side is pretty chewed up in the same location (see pics). The mids and fronts of the floorpans are solid and good on both sides. There is about a 7-8 inch crack in the middle bottom of the windshield and there is also a rock chip on the driver's side, just above the steering wheel. Driver's side seat has busted threads in a couple spots. OVERALL: Very good driver quality or not too far from show quality with a little work.
