Up for Sale is a 1987 Monte Carlo SS. Total mileage on the car is 137, 290 (this may be slightly higher at time of sale as this is a daily driver). The original 305 V8 was replaced at 97,000 miles by the previous owner and replaced with a new 350, meaning that there is only approx. 40,000 miles on the engine. Last year I replaced the original 200 R4 automatic transmission with a brand new (& beefed up) 700 R4 because I much prefer the stronger 700 over the 200. Also at this time, I installed a brand new 3.23 Rear End from Summit Racing and a new (larger oil reservior) differential cover. My aim was to take advantage of the better gearing/overdrive combination for highway driving and mileage (this car gets an honest 20-23 mpg at 70 mph). Also new within the last year are the: starter, flywheel, dual exhaust with FlowMaster Series 40 mufflers, brakes (pad, rotors, etc.), new custom Rallye rims, new tires, complete new A/C system (compressor, condensor, hoses, etc.), and new blower motor for the ventilation system. The body is very straight. This is a clean, Southern car that has never been exposed to salted roads. Rust-free. Clean pans and trunk (see pics), and clean around glass edges where these cars are usually prone to rust. Car starts, runs, shifts, handles and stops just as it should. Interior is very clean, excellent condition, non-smoking, no tears, no smells, no cracks in dash (see pics). Excellent glass. New A/C blows cold, heater is toasty hot. Paint is very good with minor flaws from daily use and time (see pics). This would make a perfect daily driver, or even a show car with a new perfect paint job. To my knowledge, this car was bought new at Dale Earnhardt's Chevrolet (see pic) and kept in the same family until I bought it. NEW: 700R4 TRANS, 3.23 REAR END AND COVER FROM SUMMIT, BRAKES, RALLYE RIMS, DUAL EXHAUST WITH FLOWMASTERS, COMPLETE A/C SYSTEM, FLYWHEEL, STARTER, TIRES, BLOWER MOTOR. 350 MOTOR HAS APPROX 40,000 MILES ON IT.
