2006 RAM 3500 CUMMINS BIG HORN EDITION Up for auction today I am listing a truck that I aquired through the local Dodge dealership that took it on trade on a new Ram, it is a one owner local trade. This truck was owned by a New Mexico State Represenative who owns a ranch and drove it back and for to Santa Fe for legislature. So most all of the miles on this truck were mostly highway, it was also driven on a ranch too from time to time. It is a really clean truck overall, it does have a few dints and dings here and there, but over the body is really nice. Now there is one flaw with this truck and it could be cause alot of people to shy away from this truck, but to the right buyer it will make a good truck. This truck does have an issue with blow-by, meaning the engine has a flaw, not sure what it is. I had my mechanic go over the truck and we found that the #1 injector was bad and we believe a few of the others are on there way also, but it was for sure missing on the #1 so we replaced it and it is now running correctly with no miss's. No for the blow-by, not too sure, it isn't causing any complications with the overall running of the truck. I drive it to work and home everyday and have no problems, truck runs great down the highway and just as well in town. One reason we feel there are more bad injectors is that it dumps fuel from time to time, it will load up and smoke for a bit in the mornings when first starting. After you run the truck out for about a mile the smoke clears up and the truck runs great. When its smoking the truck has a somewhat ruff idle, but when the smoke clears up so does the ruff idle. My mechanic feels its just dirty injectors, so rebuild em or replace em your choice, but I don't have time to deal with it. I would feel comfortable driving this truck anywhere without issue, so you could fly in direct here in Roswell from DFW via American Airlines. I could always be one of those guys who woulda just run the truck for awhile before you got here and you woulda never known til the next morning but I'm not that way. I and my mechanic who is one of the local diesel gooruu's feels this truck will run for several thousand miles still without issue, but you will need to expect to rebuild or replace the motor in the future, that is why I am offering this truck at a fraction of the price of normal. Exterior- The overall outside of this truck is in great shape in my opinion for a 133k mile truck that has been on a ranch every now and then. There is a crease on the right rear corner under the taillight which I have photoed, there is a crease on the bottom of the right doors, but not bad. The right front fender and headlight have been changed out, I can tell because the right headlight is clearer than the left and there are a few chips on the right fender where you can see the black primer of the new fender. It does have a B&W gooseneck ball in the bed of the truck already, along with a reciever hitch and heavy duty rear bumper along with trailer wiring and electronic brake controller. It does have BFG all terrain tires that I would say are around 70% in overall condition. This is a sharp looking truck, clean and straight for the most part. Mechanical- Well I think I summed up most of the mechanical earlier in the listing, the tranny although is a Automatic and shifts smooth through all the gears as well as the transfer case working in all the gears. It does have manual shift for the 4wd which is feel is a really good option, alot more trustworthy. Interior- The inside of this truck is in really good condition for the miles, overall it is really clean, no stains or anything to mention. The drivers floor mat is wrinkled up and has a hole worn through it from the heal of his shoe. It has power trailer towing mirrors, power windows, locks, seats, the computer up on the ceiling of the truck. Overall this is a nice truck for you, if you are mechanically inclined or know of someone that is this will make you a heck of a nice truck for you. I feel this truck will run the way it is for another 40 or 50 thousand miles or even more if you are lucky, you never know. I have towed with it also and it pulls under load without issue either, like I said I am not sure of the reason for the blow-by, you could get lucky and find it to be a simple fix. But I have driven several trucks that had blow-by for an additional 40-50k miles and never got any worse or better for that fact. But on this truck the smoking we are pretty sure is from the injectors loading up fuel do to getting stuck. But after replacing one injector for $500 I just don't want to put anymore money in it. This truck books for 26k dollars retail and if your lucky you can make it runs it course long enough before ever needing to replace or rebuild the motor to get your use outta of it before doing so.
