Vehicle Detail

1972 CHEVROLET CHEYENNE Up for auction I am offering a pickup that I aquired several months ago from the local Chevrolet Dealership that they took in on trade. I don't know much about the history of this truck other than they got it from a gentleman out of Carlsbad, NM. In the glove box I found paperwork showing that he bought it more than a year ago out of Texas and then alot of paperwork for all the work done to the truck. The papers are for all the new parts put on the truck, from weather strips, carpet and interior items, to engine parts and many other items. All of these total to more than 11,000 dollars. With all of what has been done to this truck it is still far from being a totally restored show truck, but it does make one hell of a nice driver, everytime I drive this truck I get tons of looks because of how clean it is. If you are looking for a good truck that doesn't require much but alittle more attention here and there than this truck is for you. Exterior- The grill on this truck has been cleaned up, they used a chrome coated plastic molding to wrap the grill to cover up some imperfections. They also used that for the upper and lower tailgate molding in place of the factory moldings. In my opinion I would take the grill out and replace it with a new reproduction grille along with put new reproduction trim on the tailgate, you could do both those things for less than five or six hundred. There is some paint chips on the front edge of the hood I think due to the chrome trim they added from opening and shutting the hood. The body is straight, the paint shines nice, you can see where they have done some body work in different places on this truck, but its nothing major, I just know what to look for. They did put a crappy roll in bedliner in the truck bed, I would figure out a way to remove it or just jump full off and cover it up with the real deal to make it look better. The bumpers are in good shape, the tires are in like new condition. Mechanical- The truck has a 350 c.i. motor with an automatic tranny, not sure what model the tranny is. It does have factory a/c that works by the way used it all summer long, the motor runs strong and smooth, tranny shifts smooth and it does leak alittle tranny fluid like almost all chevy's do. It does have dual exhaust that sounds really good, nothing load, just a nice smooth purr. Brakes work great, truck rides and drives great, I wouldn't hesitate jumpin' in and driving it anywhere. Interior- The interior is in very good condition overall, no rips, no tears, no wear, the one major thing is which I have pics of, it used to be blue interior and they spray died it black. It is wearing off in some places, I talked to my interior guy and he said it just needed to be taken apart, cleaned up and sprayed with a better quality spray. They covered the headliner and the windshield post with upholstry, I personally don't like it, because its not stock, but it does look ok other than coming loose around the edges some. They put new carpet in it, the guage cluster has been refurbished, it has the factory am deck still all the lights on the inside work too, dome light, gear indicator light and all the guage backing lights along with the gauges all work too. Overall this is an amazing truck for a driver, you could take it and do alittle more fine tuning to the body over time and continue to improve the quality of this truck. I am only selling due to buying or building a new house in the next few months to make mamma happy. So all my tows are going and this isn't much of a truck for a family of 5 anyways. I always wanted a truck this clean and this good of a driver, but family first and me later. So here is your chance to buy a clean rust free Southern truck for a driver or a future full on restoration base you couldn't ask for much more other than a short wide. If you have any questions feel free to email or call me anytime, my cell is 575-626-3557 and my name is Eric. Thanks for looking, good luck and happy bidding.......
